Posting the shopping cart theory because people had questions in a separate thread
  • As far as I'm aware, that is the case for some of the crews at different stores. Mainly the ones based in larger malls or shopping centres that have their carts spread out over a large area. Those are the ones you would see using the ride-on vehicle with the trolley trailer hitched.

For the most part though, at least here in Aus, the trolley collectors are also responsible for cleaning the stores.

  • 100%

And knowing how corporate works in these sorts of places, they ain't gonna hire/roster more people to deal with the extra work, just push the existing staff even harder so they don't have to pay out extra hours.

The worst shit is when I see someone dumping a cart, they see me, smile and nod at me and then walk off like they haven't just been caught being shitty.

  • My bus to work has only 2 options, 10 minutes early with no tracking, or the tracking displaying "2 minutes away" for 20 minutes straight minutes after it was supposed to arrive.

  • When TV tie-ins work TOO well rule
  • Oh yeah, that's completely fair. More just using it as an example that both nexus collection and non-collection packs exist. Nolvus was just the first that sprang to mind for the latter category because of how nuts the requirements are.

  • Regarding #9's alternative, "Not counting Canberra, what city was the most recently founded state capital of Australia?" is a bit of a bad question in and of itself, given that Canberra isn't a state capital, since the ACT isn't a state but rather a territory of Australia (alongside the Northern Territory).

  • The US has so much space
  • Yep, equally as fucked up here. Nobody's gonna buy a place that has borderline non-existent soundproofing and insulation, shit amenities nearby, and a not insignificant chance of becoming uninhabitable due to structural issues. And you'd still probably be looking at around a million for that.

As much as I hate the sprawl, people don't really have much or a choice with the state of things.
