UK folks, if you could only listen to one album forever which album would it be?
  • Appetite for Destruction - Guns N' Roses

Just over an hour of absolutely banging tracks, you start with the sound of siirens in Welcome to the Jungle and end on Axl fucking a woman in Rocket Queen which is also the best GNR song. My last car only had a CD player and this was a constant favourite. The only track that isn't a 10/10 is "Think About You" and even then it's still pretty fucking good.

  • More Brits than ever say Brexit was wrong choice: YouGov survey
  • Sorry to be pedantic, but only about 37% of the voting population voted to leave the EU. 34% voted to stay and 29% didn't vote.

It maddens me when Brexiteers scream "the majority of us voted to leave!" when it's far from the case.

  • What are your favorite fantasy novels/series?
  • Love to see some First Law praise here!

I don't think I've read an Abercrombie book that I haven't loved, his characters jump off the page and his style of writing is visceral and hilarious. People criticise the worldbuilding (or lack thereof) but that's because the Circle of the World isn't a character in these books, it's the backdrop. Besides, if you've read all the books, you'll realise that there's actually a shit ton of worldbuilding in there!

Also, Abercrombie is extremely fortunate that he has Steven Pacey narrating his audiobooks. The literal GOAT of audiobook narration (Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge aside).

  • Southend supporters protest owners house after winding up petition delayed again

Thought I'd post this here. My football team have been going through tough times recently due to the behaviour of our owner, Ron Martin.

We were facing a winding up petition with HMRC over unpaid tax bills, as well as being under transfer embargo and staff not being paid for 3 months. There's now a good chance the National League will throw us out as we're 3 weeks away from the beginning of the season and are having to cancel friendlies.

Despite Ron putting the club up for sale, a potential deal with new buyers seems to have stalled, with speculation that Ron's terms aren't favourable (he owns both the current ground and the proposed new ground).

The club has over 100 years of history and it's heartbreaking that it might all go down the shitter because of one man's greed.
