Currently painting the MG Sword Striker pack black in preparation for my MG Perfect Strike (Recirculation color) build. Well, I say painting, but it's really more trying to wring out the last dregs of ink from a couple of old Sharpies, which involves making a few strokes and then setting the markers down for a while to wait for more ink to capillary down into the tip. So it's slow going.
I've also got a partially assembled MG Wing Proto Zero. Decals for the arms, shoulders, and shield are done, but I still need to apply the rest. I'm also in the middle of modifying a conversion kit for the Proto Zero which is supposed to give the wing binder pylons the ability to pivot, as well as extending the length of the wing binders to fit better the supermodel proportions that Katoki likes. Unfortunately, there are a couple of major fitting issues with the kit. The spacing for the pegs and holes on the replacement wing binders is completely off, which I didn't realize at first, so when I tried to test fit one of the binder pieces it snapped on me. Yeah. I was mainly interested in the kit for the pivot though, so while it's disappointing it's not a total loss. The other fitting issue is that you can't actually use part E29 (the ABS connector for the pylons that you plug the wing binders into during final assembly) with the conversion kit, because the spacing is too narrow for it. So you have to either file it down to fit, or dig up a spare polycap that'll fit instead. Also, the original design for this conversion kit is to have the pivot joint be a polycap held in place by a rod that you thread through the joint as the axle, but I decided I wanted to be clever and use a couple of leftover joints I had from Kotobukiya's MSG customization line instead, so I need to do some cutting and drilling to make room for the joint pegs.
