I was skeptical, but it's real.

Not unless I'm misunderstanding something, although I do like the idea of not having all of our eggs in one basket in case that were to ever change.

The TenForward community is awesome, and I think having a parallel fediverse presence is good for our longevity.

We'll be wherever trekkies are. Since Piefed launched and is growing, we thought it would be cool for Ten Forward to have a presence here too. I'd imagine most activity will remain on the established LW community, but there will probably be a small amount here as well.

And a pretty good predictor for how the rest of your run is going to go. Will you buckle down and git gud even though the fight seems wildly unfair? Or will you throw dung piles over the door?

That is correct.

I did some searching and I'm seeing 1937 and 1938, so yeah, that's probably about right.

It's real, but it went viral and they got a ton of backlash online for it a few years ago.

I may have to one of these days.

Just did some digging, and it's legit and from a 1994 book called "The Internet Guide for New Users" by Daniel P. Dern.
