Yard lookin' fine tho.
  • I gotta disagree there. My yard even when mowed is a haven for all sortsa critters. Lizards, squirrels, and birds prance around by day, and at night you can find hundreds of varying spiders and wasps hunting smaller insects. Rocks might afford some of that but just about nothing would be happy with plain sand backyard. Then again, I live in an area with lots of rain and no shortage on water.

I try to mow pretty high and I let it grow for a few weeks between, but unfortunately I cant just leave it be due to my hoa.

  • How much is too much?
  • They're not defending Biden personally, and they're not saying you shouldnt protest. They're saying "Don't forget, on election day you still have to go and vote for Biden because Trump will be worse". Unless you've got a better proposal on how to handle the election specifically, their point is perfectly relevant and doesn't undermine anything in your post.

  • Is it too late to get involved?
  • Its 4-player coop in-mission, but there is a meta-game where the entire community contributes towards spreading or defending democracy across several planets neighboring super-earth. So this week one faction might have gained some ground, so everyone is encouraged to fight on that front, but the next week there might be an order to push back the border of the opposite faction. I believe there is one person, Joel, who is in charge of playing dungeon master for the overarching war.

At a player level, the status of the war will determine which planets are available to do missions on and what your personal challenges will be set to (to reward you for contributing to the cause). This updates on a near daily cycle and adds a bunch of great variety to the environments and challenges you'll face.

  • Is it too late to get involved?
  • Nah nah, you get split up by difficulty. At first you only have access to level 1 difficulty, and you gain difficulty level access by accomplishing missions in each level (up to 9). Chances are, you'll be playing with fellow rookies until about 5 or 6. By the time you've hit difficulty 5 you'll have a full arsenal of very competent gear, helped very much by the fact that some of your starting gear is actually still very viable mid/late game.

  • Nintendo 3DS emulator Citra taken offline as collateral damage in Yuzu lawsuit settlement
  • If by emulation you mean your ability to emulate, absolutely not. Its a portable program, you can find countless mirrors of the downloads or ask someone you know and trust for a copy. If you mean active development in 3DS emulation... Yeah probably dead.

  • What Are Some Things You Regret Buying or Bought but Never Used?
  • Its sorta funny and cathartic reading your comment. I'm not a dad, but I did just get a house with a yard. Lately yardwork, which is something I HATED as a kid, has become quite a hobby for me too.

I find it hard to play very immersive AAA games nowadays, but I do use my steam deck for short indie games or nostalgia plays of old protable games via emulator. I find if I just keep it charged and near my bed or couch, I'll reach for it whenever I'd otherwise scroll social media.

  • It's Not Nostalgia. Old Minecraft WAS Great.
  • I have no clue about the old launcher, but the current launcher allows you to select any version all the way back past alpha. It was a lot of fun to try to hunt down which version I probably first played.

  • "My house is on Fallingbrook!"
  • My work calls for me to log addresses and map them out a ton. I can tell you from experience that there can be an 1191 11th Ct, 1191, 11th Ave, and 1191 11th Dr all within one block. It's infuriating enough for me just mixing them up, I can't imagine driving around not realizing that the other two even exist would make it way more confusing.

  • Gotta agree with you bud. America certainly should change for the better, but this post is some privelaged ass shit. All these people downvoting should talk to someone who escaped cuba or who has friends and family who died on the west bank last month.

  • How close are you to your siblings?
  • I'm the oldest of three and we're tight as could be. We hop online with our additional brother from another mother at least once a week, sometimes twice if we have time. It started because my best friend (mentioned earlier) was one of the few individuals on this planet with a gamecube AND all 4 GBA link cables. So he would come over all the time while we were still in highschool and my younger bros would join for FF: Crystal Chronicles or Zelda Four Swords. Later it became Smash Bros or Mario Party and whatever other coop game we could find. As we each moved out, and some away from our home city, we picked an established day of the week to be our online boiz day so we'd never lose contact. It's always a joyous occasion when we can fly everyone back into town and hang out in-person.

  • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate! I just recently got Citra emulator running on my steam deck and it runs great. Plus, Citra can emulate local multiplayer over the internet, so I'm playing with my old buddy who moved to california. Just like we did back in our highschool days.
