As a temporary solution de-federation is a fine idea. Permanently, I fear you guys may be shooting yourself in the foot. I joined a few days ago after seeing you were federated with most of the larger instances, and you had a decent number of communities similar to subreddits. Again, I understand how you can see this as necessary to maintain a safe space, but it will most definitely be the death of Beehaw in the long run. I'll probably swap to another instance for now.
This is the main reason I won't be getting rid of my Steam Deck for the Ally. Setup was super smooth, and for the most part everything just works. Barring a few issues with proton here and there, but I haven't had many with the games I play. Windows on a handheld sounds like a craptastic idea to me.

Nowadays Markiplier is the only one of the gaming YouTubers I watch that still uploads quality content regularly. Back in the golden era of YouTube gaming channels I used to watch PewDiePie, UberHaxorNova, Cryaotic, The Creatures, Kootra, ImmortalHD, FrankieOnPc, etc. Most of those guys no longer upload so I don't have much gaming in my feed anymore...
I subconsciously open Sync for Reddit and start scrolling about 50 times every day. Just joined here and installed Jerboa to try to supplement the habit. I love the environment here, but boy is it clunky and the content is so much more limited than Reddit. I'm definitely going to miss it, but I'll adapt.
