That is a bit weird, as iirc the robots in star wars are not based on LLMs, the robots in SWs can think, and can be sentient beings but are often explicitly limited. (And according to Lucas this was somewhat intentional to show that people should be treated equally (if this was the initial intent is unclear as Lucas does change his mind a bit from time to time), the treatment of robots as slaves in SW is considered bad). What a misreading of the universe and the point. Also time flows the other way folks, LLMs didn't influence the creation of robots in SWs.

Also if the droids were LLMs, nobody would use them to plot hyperspace lanes past stars. Somebody could send a message about Star Engorgement and block hyperspace travel for weeks.

But yes, the backlash is going to be real.

(also note this female coded robot has no face, but does have nipples (who does she think she is? Batman?)). Considering she is only in the 'people who visit prostitutes are disgusting' bar scene with the sexual harassing gay guy, she then walks outside in a weird catwalk like walk (she is in the background in other scenes where she acts normally) and then disappears. (What is it with Snyder being weird about sex workers (weird fetishization and some weird madonna whore like complex) and gay people (see the weird scene in the dawn of the dead remake), and making queer coded people evil/ugly (See the persians in 300 and the badguy of rebel moon is a monsterfucker)?)

Sorry for the derail, but I'm shown this image every time I open netflix and it always weirds me out (it gets worse in a way, as Zack created an expansive star wars like universe and everybody has an backstory which people all put into wikis and stuff, and I don't think this robot even has a name or backstory. Even the robot bartender with the candles has a backstory). I also have so many complaints about this movie I could talk about this for hours I think, it is amazing esp as the directors cut makes the movies worse (spaceships are powered by enslaved naked sentient giant women what? And of course the power usage also physically hurts them (and why, none of the other ships have a crying giant woman but they can travel intergalactic distances). Coal powered spaceships now replaced by bone powered spaceships, using pets as suicide bombs? Why does Zack think, seedy guy from bar is actually a seedy guy is subversive, esp as Solo (released 5 years earlier) already did this to show Han Solo is an exception, and you are making the 'edgy' version? I could go on).

But yes, think the pivot image is pretty tame.

I posted his work here before, despite thinking he isnt totally correct about his stance on capitalism stuff. He seems to be a good source on the whole medical chemistry science field. What a makes this story even weirder was that the ai script apparently talked about forgiveness, but he still got a year more. Which doesnt sound very forgiving to me. Anyway it is going to start to be really fun and messed up when they make the AIs interactive. Esp when they go off script during cross examinations or something like that.

As a Dutch person, why can't yall be normal about bikes? Just invest in separate bike lanes and protect people on bicycles from drivers (I really need to write out my manifesto blog post on how I think car ownership turns you into a psychopath one day). She killed herself over EA sexual abuse. EA did massive damage control over this (including some defenses from Scott which as a professional he simply should have said because it spread typical myths about fake accusations/people in situations like this). Lot of people were hurt, disregarded and treated horribly. She wasn't the only one suffering from abuse (PolyamorousNephandus on reddit also spoke openly and a lot about abuse suffered by her). Try searching the reddit sneerclub archives for more. It is, due to the subject matter a subject we should be careful and serious about however. EA seems to have added procedures and people to adres stuff like this after everything but not sure if LW did for example. Also due to only looking at it from the outside I have no idea if this helped or if a whisper network is still the best defense people have. (This article from 2023 (for which PolyamorousNephandus said she was interviewed, which is how I found it) does not fill me with much hope).

Only as blackhats as that is going to be the only way to get money, nobody hires non ai security, but an exploit goes for millions.
