  • On one hand it's an amazing piece in both the dark and the light versions, on the other the bottom right side sort of loses something in the darker version. I feel like the minor difference adds something, even if it doesn't draw the eye as much as the top half.

  • Facebook is one of the social media sites banned by the Chinese government. I'm not saying they don't use it anyway, but for what it's worth the last time I checked it was also banned.

  • "means more" isn't a factual statement, it's a value judgement and some people value being the best version of themselves more than they value leading a miserable existence because of their genetics. Environmental issues are also just that: results of the environment rather than innate expression of X or Y chromosomes. The point the OP post is making is that instead of focusing on economic policies, global warming, and wars, politicians are more focused on who decides they'd be happier as a man/woman/non binary person. It's a complete waste of time for everyone BUT doctors and researchers since we shouldn't be judging or limiting what people can do based on what genitals they were born with, and instead be focusing on how to fix massive, glaring, and disastrous issues such as the ones described in the post.

  • "the actual fascists don't matter" .......There's no way you just typed that in good faith.

  • As someone with insomnia problems that have been reoccurring throughout my life, that was a terrifying read thank you.

  • Congratulations on the small victory!

  • Would graphene OS be the answer here then? I've been looking around for my new phone lately as I'm trying to do the same. Would it be possible to de-google lineage OS manually or is it just better to pick another OS? Sorry for the questions but I don't really know where the FOSS android communities are yet so I don't know where to look for the answers.

  • Even the best laid plans go awry though. The point is even if they pragmatically design it to not kill indiscriminately, bugs and glitches happen. The technology isn't all the way there yet and putting the ability to kill in the machine body of something that cannot understand context is a terrible idea. It's not that the military wants to indiscriminately kill everything, it's that they can't possibly plan for problems in the code they haven't encountered yet.

  • I have Generalized anxiety disorder, It's chronic and therapy doesn't "cure" it. I will most likely struggle with it for the rest of my life. While this may be an anecdotal example I'm not aware of anything that "cures" anxiety disorders, therapy is mostly there to manage the symptoms effectively. Therapy helped me understand and somewhat mitigate the problem, but it's not something I can ever be rid of, and that's how it is for a lot of people who have an anxiety disorder.

  • I always thought sci-fi uniforms were really cool, could you imagine congress in like, mass effect alliance uniforms? that would be cool as fuck.

of course, that might also be because I find business attire to be boring as fuck. So maybe most things look cool in comparison.

  • What's the name of the novel? I kinda want to read that now because that sounds interesting.

  • From what I gather here in the comments, they use the sim cards to make the bots look like they're actually posting from where the farm is located, since using a VPN would not be sufficient to hide their tracks.

  • Could you explain more about IBM? I'm not as tech literate and I've been barely keeping up with the conversations about federation and EEE, what's going on with IBM?

  • It'll be interesting to see how Lemmy grows. I am also coming from reddit but I'm excited to see how lemmy's culture grows over time.
