Balanced cable adapter?
  • Alternatively you can buy a replacement cable that way you don't have a large adapter that could become cumbersome, although it would be more expensive than an adapter. Decent cables go for about $20, I recommend Tripowin brand. Just make sure that it is MMCX to 2.5mm or 3.5mm. Be aware that 3.5mm will not be balanced but will still work with the Qudelix

  • How do you discover new (to you) music?
  • Mainly YouTube, their algorithm is pretty good about what I get recommended although I do tend to see some songs more than a couple of times. I find Spotify recommends songs that I've already got in a playlist far too often

  • need some recommendations for really good wired earbuds / IEM's.
  • I've had the blessing 2 dusk for about 2 years now and nothing has really seemed like a worthwhile upgrade to me. I'm sure you'll find a lot of praise for them on the internet so I'll give you what I dislike about them.

    • My pair have spinfit cp155 tips, they stay on snug for about a month or two before they start to feel loose or slip off on their own. I just wipe off the iem and the tip on my shirt every now and then and they go back to being snug.
    • I listen to a lot of EDM, Orchestral, Pop, and a little bit of Rock. For my tastes they still lack some Bass and have a tad bit too much treble. For reference I increased bass at 125hz by 2.0db and and lowered the 6-8k range by 1.5db
    • They're pretty big, I don't have issues with the nozzle size but the body of them butt up against the top of my ear creating a hotspot after a while.
  • What's everyone playing? (June)
  • Pokemon infinite is just a fanmade Pokemon game, it's got nothing to do with Nintendo and runs on PC natively. It looks and plays closer to Pokemon leaf green but with new mechanics and story

  • What are y'all's all time favourite game OSTs?
  • I actually got Drakenguard 3 running on my steam deck recently, it runs surprisingly well. I could immediately tell the game was gonna have great music based on the opening animation.

I find Nier replicant is good only after you make it past the first one or two hours. Too many fetch quests for me.

  • What's everyone playing? (June)
  • Drakenguard 3 on rpcs3 I'm pretty impressed at how well it runs. I only had to change one audio setting to fix some crackling issues.

Also Pokemon infinite fusion when I'm looking for something more chill

  • Just bought the 64Gb model, what are some essential accessories?
  • Others have mentioned this already but the main thing for me was a glass screen protector.

If you get a power bank make sure it's able to charge the deck at full speed. I've heard good things about the Anker 737 but i myself don't have one.

  • How many steam deck folks are here and what are you playing?
  • I got Drakenguard 3 running on rpcs3 recently so I've mainly been playing that. Also been playing Pokemon infinite fusion.

I tend to prefer games that aren't as heavy on the deck and stuff like cyberpunk and Elden ring better on my main rig.

  • What are y'all's all time favourite game OSTs?
  • Both the Nier games have amazing soundtracks that I listen to frequently.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is also great although I don't really listen to it on its own. It really makes the game feel much more impactful while playing.
