  • I am using RabbitMQ for a project to connect python apps in docker containers to a main .net app and another python app. It surprisingly works between languages as advertised with any hacks or workarounds. I have no complaints and the system has been up for 2 years.

  • There is no right answer. The only hard rule i have is that if it only requires key-value pairs keep it real simple. I use a variety of databases and things I can used as a database. One project uses Google sheets. Another uses a bunch of CSVs on a NAS as document oriented type database. And then there are the usuals; SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, and some god awful MS Azure crap that uses KQL.

  • Yooka-Replaylee - A bunch of former Rare employees that worked on Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie made a game that is a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. Yooka-Replaylee is the extened remake of Yooka-Laylee release in 2018. It's an excellent 3D platformer that plays like Banjo-Kazooie with better controls.

  • I had a Chem class where the prof opened with "my goal is to fail as many Engineers as possible". The average on the final was 27%. Luckly some important admistrator in the Eng department's kid was in one of those classes and they got the tenured professor fired.

  • I have made worse, I used to do a cascading merge everyday to move stuff from dev branches to staging to production. Then I did a merge in the opposite direction for a small selection of branches so they could get their updates from staging. Feature branches were rebased as needed.

  • We should are least refer to inference LLMs as LLMs. The fact that if you asked it something like who is the current CS2 top team, it would give you the top team at the time it was trained is enough proof that the models effectively know nothing.

  • I was in a long term relationship with someone with a drinking problem. When a drunk person says something to you they fucking mean it. Their filter is weaker and, as I label it "they have the courage to say something that they were afraid to say sober." When you figure this out everything is easier to understand.
