  • It's worse because this particular company has a habit of doing a bunch of unfinished games. Palworld, Craftopia and Never grave are all by the same company. They're all also unfinished.

Pocketpair is also 100% not an indie company as the head of Pocketpair is already a Businessman who owns an exchange for cryptocurrency

  • It's exclusive to PC and XBox just FYI. They have a contract going on with Microsoft that forbids them from releasing to other platforms.

  • Considering that Pocketpair can't even seem to be able to finish their other (highly plagiarised) games "Never Grave" and "Craftopia", I'm not spending a single cent until they actually finish it.

Why are we holding big corpos accountable for selling unfinished games that later get patched with free DLC, but then allow a faux indie company (The CEO of Pocketpair actually is a businessman who owns a crypto exchange. So not at all an indie company) to do the same for the same price as the whole ark survivor bundle?

  • Seriously the Palworld spam is getting extremely annoying. And any critique of the game is immediately deflected or gets you a raging mob of capital G gamers whining at you

  • Honestly, all Palworld has to do is change a few models and they'd be out of the hot water. I do have to say though the few models that are noteworthy are HIGHLY problematic to a point of "X pokemon but color swapped"

  • Seriously Palworld reminds me of so many games that are over hyped and then forgotten a month or two later.

It doesn't help that the company behind it, Pocketpair, has a treck record of not finishing their games

  • Seriously "#1 sold game on steam in 2024" ah yes, because that's a good metric when it's been only one month and the biggest titles have a tendency to drop in December

  • I'd honestly expect the result to be about as bad as food poisoning which can lasts 48 hours tops. Hence why I said days.

  • Basically they'd feel mildly bad for a few days?

  • Tbh I feel like a point should be made of sharing without adopting the culture. I found that oftentimes greentext centric communities end up with similar vile behaviors and language usage.

A common sentiment is that apparently it's okay to use slurs. Lemmy greentext did a good job at not doing that so far.
