  • This sounds awesome. I usually put smoked ham hock in with a pot of collared greens but I'll have to try it with barley. Thanks!

  • True, the Aussies have been making a good show of it.

  • Stockton Rush is a killer and should be charged posthumously with four counts of negligent homicide. He's just as culpable, if not more, that someone who gets behind the wheel drink and kills their passengers.

  • Wow, I hope Paul can defeat the Harkonen, he could do some real good in the galaxy. What they really need is to put their faith in a charismatic leader.

Also, I'm sad that Duncan Idaho died. I feel like if he lived there's no chance he would become insufferable in the distant future.

  • I have to second The Final Architecture. Lots of action, lots of fleshed out alien species, a good solid crew to follow. It checks all the boxes.

  • We're not talking about punishing anyone, we just don't want to hear or see their bigotry. They can have their space and we can choose not to interact with them.

  • I really liked the last two books. I thought I wouldn't care after the time jump but I was super wrong. I liked the show but I loved the books.

  • It's definitely not lesser known, but my favorite is The Expanse.

  • I played Smushi Come Home. It's about a little mushroom making their way home. It's a platformer with some light puzzle elements. Really reminded me of A Short Hike, both in vibes and length. It clocked in at about 3 hrs but was mad cozy.

  • I've never used quantum stockpiles because I'm lazy. My forts end up sprawling and no amount of planning can keep them from turning into asymmetrical messes.

I've been trying to set up better stockpile management like Tekkud on Twitch does which sometimes works. Mostly my forts just saunter along. I'm going to pretend that is an aesthetic I'm going for.

  • I definitely agree. Back in school I learned that a Newbury medal in a book meant that a dog and/or parental figure will die. I feel like it's easier to make people feel something when the feeling is bad. Also joyful things are sometimes thought to be lesser or simple.

If anyone is a fan of scifi I recommend checking out Becky Chambers. A Psalm for the Wild Built is an optimistic solar punk book that will warm your heart.

  • My unpopular opinion is that I don't like space operas. I'd rather read pages of explanation of technology and world building. I don't care that the star princess in exile has to assemble a rag tag bunch of fringe worlders to take back the throne from the cruel council of the galactic core. How dat engine work tho?

  • Hey, let me know what instance you settle on so I can block it. Not trying to start a fight or anything, I believe you should have a voice. I just don't want to hear it.

  • True, but in Unidan's defense, it was a jackdaw, not a crow.

  • Doesn't look like undetermined is an option on kbin. We must remain in the the ruins of the towel of babel. Womp womp.

  • It was set to English but I just set it to Spanish then back to English to make sure it wasn't "set to English".

edit: ok, I read your comment this time. There's no undetermined language available on kbin. Either I set it to English when I made my account or it's a default but a language selection is required.

  • Well damn, now I need to go down a gunpla building rabbit hole on YouTube.

  • Ok, I responded to your comment before but it was from my user page. Now I'm responding from your user page. I can't see your test comment on the kbin instance I'm on (readitt.buzz). So we've got a Scooby Doo mystery on our hands. Or the federation takes some time to catch up and I've been drinking. I'm only sure about half of the previous sentence.
