  • June of 22 I started. I would read a legends book, then read another book or something between each. Since then I’ve read the original 6 Dunes, The Expanse series, all of Asimovs Foundations universe, Hitchhikers (read as a kid). As well as healthy smattering of short story compilations, probably a dozen of those?

The short stories I would read probably 5-7 depending length and go back to a SW book. Also depends how I feel. Sometimes it takes me weeks to finish a book. Or like this Heinlein book, I’ll be done today and onto the episode 6 novelization.

  • Don’t supply cheap shit, and it won’t be an IT nightmare. We’ve never had an issue with decades old rugged phones, and those have been through concrete.

Get the right tools for the job. Give your guys Razers that work in the field, and you’re gonna have a bad time. That shouldn’t need to be explained.

  • Moisture and a little water isn’t gonna affect most modern phones. Lots are submersible up to 6 feet, and almost all can be dropped in a puddle and dried with no issue.

The techs rated for getting wet, so why be so pearl clutching how people use them?

Also, touching it with slightly wet fingers isn’t going to ruin a port, even on ancient phones. They worked outside in the rain/moisture/snow.

  • Finished up Star Wars Shadows of the Empire. It’s based on the game and is the only book between movies 5 and 6. So now that I’m done this I’m moving onto the novelization of Episode 6. Shadows provided some good back story and setup the rescue of Han. Explains Boushh Leia!

Citizen of the Galaxy by Robert Heinlein. It’s my first story from him that isn’t from a ShortStory compilation. I’m enjoying it, it’s heavy on the slavery and beating, it seems though.

After those two, I think I’m gonna do some more ShortStory compilations, I like that pacing of being able to finish a story in my reading windows sometimes. But there’s a big batch of Star Wars books until the next novelization though.

This puts me at about 80-90 of the 150 books read if I’m counting my brothers list correctly.

  • As shitty as it is, you need to comply with local laws to sell stuff there. If depicting murders is illegal, movies depicting that would need to comply as well.

Anything can be propaganda when viewed through a certain lens, there’s plenty of US made propaganda movies, they’re played in other countries. I don’t think there’s a company out there that hasn’t produced propaganda of some kind.

  • It was just A LOT of reading, but it was The Big Book of Cyberpunk by Jared Shurin. It was a whopping 1000 pages of double paragraphed pages, so 2 columns of writing. It covered a a bunch of different “topics” while covering stories from the beginning (60s?) to when it was written. The topics included “Self”, “culture” “post human”, among a few others that I can’t recall right now.

It made me realize, as much as I love Scifi, I don’t like cyberpunk, I need “Space” in my stories.

I did actually finish last week! I would a few stories every few weeks while reading my other material. I loved it for the concept and history of Cyberpunk, but as mentioned, the stories were meh, but that’s a me thing. Great book otherwise.

Dune was dry in a few places and took me longer than usual to read, but part of that was just digesting everything, really technical reading, really slows you down.

Edit, oh wow, I checked my phone, and I bought it Oct 26/24. So took me just about a year to read it! It’s a beast.

  • I mean all wood is edible for the most part. It’s also in a lot food!

Cellulose! It’s used to keep your shredded cheese from sticking together.

Just chewing on a twig of oak or fir isn’t gonna kill you.

  • You need to decarb the rosin, which is why it says heat for 24-48 hours. It didn’t take that long when I did.

I use a mug warmer, and after its decarbed you can inject it immediately or let it cool and warm it back up a hair to make it less viscose.

They say glass, because you CAN melt the plastic if the oil is too hot.

  • Other than more brands and types of e-bikes? Most have existed for quite a while, just not at a consumer level.

And e-bikes are just circuits, or otherwise proprietary components. You’re gonna be following manufacturer guides, or likely videos, so use site results to specify.

  • Servers? IT? Maintenance? If only there was a place this could be centralized for efficiency….

It is funny to imagine every employee having a server rack and cooling system to add enough capacity though.

  • Booleans. Change the year to 2020, or remove certain sites/results.

All the data is still there, just gotta know how to find it, kinda like an old school library at this point! If you’re going through the process of self learning and/or bettering yourself instead of just watching and repeating, you’ll know how to wade through crap already. And if you want the latter, well googles crapification isn’t a concern to you.
