  • They typically don’t waste concrete unless spec’d or otherwise needed. Doing a T would be cheaper, but would leave the leg down to the intersection too steep for a wheelchair.

This is a common sidewalk method.

  • It’s interesting you mention the Tales of, and the NJO being good because that one they worked together. The Tales of worked like that, a collection of short stories that combined at one point.

I enjoy OLD (ancient?) scifi-fi and it’s predominantly short stories as full books were too risky to publish at first. So the short story collections almost worked as a homage to them for me.

I started about 3 years ago and have read a SW book and then another book, and back. I’ve read Dune, The Expanse, and hitchhikers to name drop a few books/series. Sometimes it’s takes a couple months to finish a book, good the later Dunes were slow, sometimes a few days. Life’s fun.

  • This doesn’t prevent the other from happening. Why are you assuming that? Both can work hand in hand to deal with different issues

Of course, if you just want to come in and see a company as evil, you won’t ever see the other side.

Sony is pretty good with their accessibility program, I don’t see why things would suddenly turn 180. Unless you just want to I guess. But that’s not reality.

  • Why are you assuming everyone will use it for the whole game? While that’s a possibility, those would be edge cases. The article specifically talks about it helping with CERTAIN parts. If you just ignore a major point of an article, of course you can embellish and look foolish.

Having a TAS to beat certain sections or a hard boss would be awesome, having it play the whole game? Well some people will have a benefit from it, but not for me.

    And physical disabilities exist too!

  • Are you really playing the game if the game is just playing itself?

People enjoy different things, and you don’t need to play something to enjoy it. Your words.

People love watching sports, they aren’t playing are they?

Hell even point and click games exist, and those “play themselves” while you merely interact with the screen.

  • Just certain sections. You could get it to do the whole thing I guess.

You would still be experiencing the story as it’s meant to be told. Why do you think you have to “play” to fully enjoy something?

Why do you think “let’s play” videos exist? Now instead, they can support the devs by buying the game and experiencing it themselves.

  • This. Sony patented the stand up and say something to skip ads.

This was a decade ago, and it’s not a thing, and won’t be a thing.

Also, the OP article is an accessibility thing, sometimes people just can’t physically do stuff, fuck them for their disability I guess is what top level comment is saying.

  • Thrawn was the first trilogy I read, then I did the two horror ones. Now I’m reading them in chronological order, so I’ve read 90ish of the 150+ legends books.

I do enjoy seeing each of the “random” authors be able to tell a story about their profession, like med star, the author was a biologist. So lots of medical jargon.

The only things I haven’t read are the YA stories and the comics. My brothers collected all of the books, and he’s started on the comics slowly as well.

I’m excited to get to the X-wing 10 book series, it’s one of the few my brother has also read. He’s read most of the new Jedi order era.

  • Because I work with LLMs daily. I understand how they work.

Clearly you don’t, because context data modifies how the training data extrapolates.

You can use something, while not being educated on how to use it. And just using something does not mean you understand how they work. Your comments have made it QUITE clear that you have no idea.

People who just whing about AI and pretend they know how they work are the worst kind of people right now.

  • Books @lemmy.world

Mildly interesting. The receipt that was stashed in the cover, I assume from the purchase in Jan or Jun of 96, kept the cover from being faded.
