Does this only affect Chrome or all Chromium based browsers? Are Brave and Edge going to be implementing this too?
I feel like this isn’t talked about enough. Charging at home doesn’t work for a lot of people. Give me a fast charger at the grocery store so I can charge while I shop and I’m in!
I only have street parking at my house and I don’t even have any outlets on the front of the house.
Sadly the charging infrastructure isn’t there yet. There’s only a handful of level 2 chargers near me so I’m it’s not practical at all unless I want to go through the hassle of getting charger installed at my house.
They wanted to stay in Afghanistan even after 20 years but 2 years of Ukraine is too much.
That is some next level power tripping.
Maybe not every democrat is a progressive and that’s why they vote against them? That’s democracy, not everyone agrees with you and sometimes you don’t get your way. Gotta work to change people’s mind and not just say fuck ‘em.
That’s not what I said. Moderate dems need to lose to progressives and not to conservatives to move the party left.
I don’t understand why people think the democrats losing to someone farther right would make them move left. Doesn’t it make more sense they’d move to the right since that’s what more voters wanted?
It was super easy to sign up but ultimately it’s missing a lot of features and is why people didn’t stick around. There’s still no search or hashtags so finding content that interests you is basically luck with the algorithm.
That’s a loaded headline. It makes it sound like all of the missing funds went to Zelensky but that’s just a guys opinion.
What is the point of using something that's federated if we all have to do things the same way? Sounds like you just want a centralized site where you get to make the rules.
The OP wasn’t speaking for their server though they were speaking for the fediverse. Everyone should be able to run their server how they see fit but don’t speak for other people.
"People joining the Fediverse are those looking for freedom. If people are not ready or are not looking for freedom, that’s fine. They have the right to stay on proprietary platforms. We should not force them into the Fediverse. We should not try to include as many people as we can at all cost. We should be honest and ensure people join the Fediverse because they share some of the values behind it."
Who gets to appoint the gatekeepers?
There goal is to not look like a monopoly to the government and have to deal with anti-trust issues. This lets them hide behind them being "open" and not forcing people to use Meta apps to access the network.
You don't need to get consensus though. The Fediverse isn't a monolith and you can change servers if you feel the one you're on isn't working for you anymore.
It's sadly not any worse than Instagram already is.
Just because they haven’t launched in the EU yet doesn’t mean they won’t. They were clearly rushing to get this out the door. I’d be absolutely shocked if they don’t go to the EU since Facebook and Instagram are there already.
That's true but connecting to the fediverse is definitely trying to keep the government off their back about being a monopoly. Playing nice is in their best interests for now. If that ever changes they can be defederated at the point.
Yeah but that's all public information that I'm choosing to put out there. Meta doesn't need to do a complete integration and share posts back to the fedeverse just to grab public information. They can just scrape the sites the way they are now for most of it.
