Same, captcha was unbearable when using VPN so I just went to Bing. Fuck Google.
anywaaaaaaaaaays...
I'm thinking a lot of the equipment is different as well, and since they mention simulating equipment malfunctions, that plays an important part, especially with the additional limitations/simulated dangers.
I guess that depends on what you consider reasonable. I figure if they're starting with simulations such as this now, it's reasonable to expect an actual manned mission in maybe 20 years.
Really interesting read and cool to be able to see the exact gear and settings that were used for each shot. The portraits seem super bland to me but I guess that's what you want for such things, very vanilla, very clean. Thanks for sharing.
Nikon issued a service advisory/recall for the Nikon Z8 camera. The described problem is that a lens cannot be mounted on the camera because the lens cannot be rotated to the locked position.
Another shout out to kbin.social, which I think will be the friendliest for users.
I have a theory that there is a impossible trinity (like in [economics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impossible_trinity)), where a food cannot be delicious, cheap and healthy at the same time. At maximum 2 of the 3 can be achieved....
![Is there a food that is cheap, delicious and healthy at the same time? - nostupidquestions - kbin.social](https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/pictrs/image/ebbcd4c3-6fbe-42cf-851c-4d8a08d519be.png?format=webp&thumbnail=256)
Ah, there it is! Thanks for reporting it, I'm glad it's in the queue.
Interesting, I'm also on MIUI 12.5 but I'm using Brave. Not really willing to change my browser for this, so I'll just wait. Thanks for the info, though!
It fails at respecting my screen's orientation lock on Android, so when in bed it kept rotating to landscape and that was extremely annoying, so had to remove it.
- Install a browser extension called "Stylus"
- Navigate to the provided link (https://userstyles.world/style/10437/kbin-slim)
- Click on the INSTALL button on the lower right.

Any favorites in particular?
So it's only "your" community as long as it suits and benefits Reddit for which they are happy that you grow and moderate said community, but if it doesn't suit them, then it's not yours, it's "the people's", unless of course the people vote democratically to change the nature of the community, in which case it doesn't belong to them either, and so it belongs to Reddit and they can do with it what they want.
What a bunch of buuuuuuuullshieeeeeeeeeet.
I admire your optimism and hope you're right!
Thanks for sharing. That was a really interesting read of a game I knew nothing about, and with a happy ending to boot. After reading a couple of reviews, I'm definitely going to check it out.
Absolutely. I love playing around with old gear so even today I find myself reading their reviews from 10 years ago. AI is likely to make all commercial photography obsolete very soon, but it's nice to know someone has faith in the subject, even if only for us who will still appreciate going out to find those photos.
Dude, you just unlocked a memory for me. I had the same experience with the first Men In Black movie. It was an unfinished cut with unrendered CGI, you just saw some untextured polygonal models in place. Now I want to find it.
@ernest created the community from the very start so not sure what his plans are regarding mods in the future, he's pretty busy now with the whole of kbin. Regardless, that'll be a concern once activity here has ramped up considerably, which I'm trying to kickstart haha. Anyways, thanks for commenting, there doesn't seem to be much interest as of now sadly, so maybe we'll have to wait for more people to join in.
Excellent news!
@shazbot created a nice -monkey script that puts a link to your subscriptions at the top, which I've found super useful. Install it with Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey from here: https://github.com/aclist/kbin-scripts/raw/main/subs.user.js
Would anybody else be interested in participating in a weekly challenge of sorts?
I'd be happy to establish some sort of theme every week and it might be a fun way to populate this magazine and get to know each other and our styles.
Let me know your thoughts and if more than a handful of us are into it, I'll get that going.
First of all, I don't even know if this is the place to ask, but I couldn't find anywhere else that made sense...
Second, Kbin looks amazing, definitely the best out of the fediverse, however there are still things I cannot for the life of me find in the UI.
- Where can I see a list of the magazines I'm subscribed to? A list, not posts from.
- Why do the thumbnails for posts appear distorted? The have incorrect aspect ratio. Is there a way to fix this?
- Where can I see a list of local communities?
- How is microblogging handled differently from other types of posts? Do they all show up on the home page?
EDIT: #5 I don't seem to get any notifications of any sort, visual or otherwise, that I have received responses to a post or comment. Is this the way it's supposed to be?
I have many more, but any help with those for now would be amazing.
