YSK: If you're on Lemmy.World or Sh.itjust.works you should not subscribe to any Beehaw communities
  • There sign up process was nearly successful in putting me off from ever trying Lemmy. I almost gave up finding instances which would let me join without filling in a completely stupid form where I have to state what communities I will join when I haven't even had a chance to get to know what communities are out there!!.

  • YSK: If you're on Lemmy.World or Sh.itjust.works you should not subscribe to any Beehaw communities
  • Or just ignore them and let become less popular and soon enough the important communities will move away or be replaced. I really dislike how many influence communities are in such a one dimensional instance, luckily I have already seen a few of those moving over to .world or elsewhere and I can't wait!

I like to have people with all sorts of backgrounds and opinions in my instance, not just everyone with the same black and white viewpoint!

  • Why do you personally prefer using an Android phone?
  • Originally for it's openess to "mess around", you can generally get as deep into it as you wish to.

Now days, it's mostly just to avoid Apple hardware surcharge and Apple lock in ( if you use Apple for anything they suck you into Apple for everything else things don't work).

I still love Android but yeah my primary motivator is now avoiding Apple hassles 😅

  • Beehaw* defederated us?
  • Yeah i started trying to register at .ml then Beehaw and was immediately put off about the user registration. Like dude let me join or don't but open questions with unclear reasons and motives is super off putting, especially when questions are like:

how do you wish to contribute? I don't know I have not stated using your space yet, I don't have a feel for the server, nor the types of posts or communitiea available.

What communitiea are you going to join/use? I don't know, whichever ones stand out as interesting, seriously get out of my business lol.
