  • My boss literally wanted me to clean up cigarettes that him and several other workers threw on the ground constantly. Keep in mind there’s a cigarette trash can that’s right outside but no one cares to use it. Needless to say, I said fuck no and he didn’t argue lmao.

  • I'm pretty sure Sceptre makes non-smart TVs still for a few hundred bucks. I'm sure the picture quality won't be the best of the best but it won't be a smart TV. I've used their high refresh rate monitors on my PC for years and they still work great.

  • I have one of the first gen smart TVs from Samsung and it's absolute cheeks now. Changing the volume, no joke, can take multiple minutes to register from the remote. When I click the volume up button, you can see the red light on the ir sensor of the TV flash, registering that it got the signal, but for it to actually change the volume, that can take multiple minutes to do. Just buy a regular tv and get an nvida shield or something similar.

  • From my experience, power line adapters are very hit or miss depending on your house setup. I've had power line adapters that couldn't even get above 10 Mbps. I feel like the next best thing besides just straight up Ethernet cables is something called MoCA adapters. They use the already existing (in most houses) coax cables, which allow for much higher throughput and very consistent connection. I've had peaks of 850-900 Mbps with 10ms latency using MoCA adapters.

  • Is there a point in having multiple lemmy accounts?

I had made one for lemmy.world and lemmy.ml, not really knowing what I was doing just checking out the different sites. Is there a point in having multiple accounts or can I just access everything with one account?
