Cooking is fun to mess around with. Especially when making slow cooker stuff. Random root vegetables? In you go. Sausage? Chicken? Either sure! Random penzeys spices? Yep yep!
This was 7ish lbs of apples, peels left on. 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 brown sugar, couple teaspoons on cinnamon, a tablespoon of vanilla, a 1/4th teaspoon salt, and some nutmeg (1/4th?). Cooked down for ages. The apples were winesap, which aren't very small or tough. I might cut some of the old tree apples with more modern sweeter apples to help if the ones made from just the old tree isn't sweet enough.
While I do ship it to people, the entire first batch is accounted for unfortunately! XD So good luck making your own! It really makes the house smell amazing!
I let it go for most of a day, at least 8 hours. Buuut I prefer the slow method. I plan around my lack of energy by starting the process, taking a nap while it cooks down, then can it later, usually at night so the steam filled kitchen doesn't melt me as much!
I host Thanksgiving, by that I mean I cook turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, and then whatever else I want for me, my husband, and my twin. That's it.
I do not go to mother's or husband's cousins. "Twin works Thanksgiving at a grocery store, I must give them a quiet Thanksgiving" works real well to convince people to not ask again.
Tbh I hated them as a kid. Still prefer just peanut butter but now have issues with that being a trigger scent. Husband says pbj is better when the jelly is actually strawberry honey butter I've made. I'm sure it is, that stuff is tasty.
All work would have fallen to me and I'm just not physically or mentally capable of that. My husband has cerebral palsy. This makes taking care of a baby very difficult. He's also older than me by quite a bit. I'm already going to have to take care of him as he ages. I can't deal with both ends of this at the same time, child and elderly care. I know what I signed up for when I met him, a child I do not know the problems it could have until its too late.
When things are syncing, they should be getting all messages and not just the @ ones. This is based on my twin finding a post I made to lemmy and commenting on it from mastodon. As long as I replied to their comment, they saw it and I never used the @.
Although this is the opposite, maybe. Someone from mastodon made the post, instead of commenting on a lemmy post from mastodon.
Also the @ was just something mastodon does and we found twin could remove it on their end and I'd still be alerted I had a reply.
Edit - they won't be alerted of this message though, as it's not a top level comment. They'll get yours because yours is. But mine is a comment to you. They'd still see it if they read the thread though.
Do not call my nice corningware plates Granny oh god
