Totally agreed. Sentencing is insane and discretion was taken away from judges by congress long ago.

I'm more pointing out where he is within that system that arguing for reform. I'm not against said reform, but it's a totally different topic.

There's no punishment, they're telling him that if he wants early release and intends to perform, that the content of his performance be reviewed ahead of time.

Because he would never have been able to have that performance AT ALL if still incarcerated.

He is asking for early release and it is being granted with certain restrictions.

People on probation get sent back when they break laws, violating the terms of that probation. This guy hasn't gotten to probation yet and is more restricted.

I see your point though, and it would be double jeopardy if they fully released him while continuing to punish him in other ways. That just isn't what's happening here. He's trying to get out early.

If he wants special treatment to get out of his sentence early, he has to comply with that program.

We can't really be arguing about the validity of the charges here, this isn't a venue where that is entertained but one where the sentence is amended under certain restrictions.

It's not like this is a part of his sentence, it's a part of him trying to reduce his sentence.

In many cases, yes. Puff pieces are usually just that.

But I already know enough about Gary Sinese as an actor to answer this, and the truth is that Forrest Gump and playing Lieutenant Dan, changed his life, not just his career.

He's become an activist, working for veterans rights groups, performing at USO shows, etc. The disabled veteran community embraced him for highlighting their plight, and in return he has never stopped working for them.

Well, this is just my opinion as a jaded American, but I believe it means "Told off in a publicly embarrassing way that has zero actual consequence in the long term, so the powerful people of the party can wash their hands of the whole matter whilst pretending they don't actually openly celebrate their fascism behind closed doors."

He has a deep, resonant voice. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's very comforting.

He has done probably hundreds of audiobooks but one series I remember him doing was The Cat Who... line of mysteries. Very lightweight but fun books.

You'd need to watch it through to understand. (And I'm not telling you to do that.)

It's about troubled people trying to build themselves into something more, and what it can cost you in the moment.

You see a dozen people screaming at each other and yelling Chef - I see a family trying to work through their issues, one of those being the toxicity of families, while being honest and showing each other love and respect.

My wife also loves Schitt's Creek and I can't stand the shallow, one-note characters... but that's because I haven't put in the time to get to know them and see how they grow and change.

A lot of shows are like this, and it's totally okay to bounce off of them if they don't resonate with you.

But I love this one. The Bear is great fun.

I was not getting this one until I finally randomly got one of the words. If it had times or told you how many words you guessed, this would be one or my worse showings.

I was on a MUD (old multi-player internet text rpg) called Three Kingdoms when Princess Diana died. Over a hundred people online at the time from all over the world.

It was a huge shock for everyone, followed by a strange communal grieving for a well-known and liked international figure.

There isn't anything all that wrong with smoking some pot and playing video games. Just make sure you're still taking care of yourself in other ways.

Keep clean. Cook your own food. Exercise, get fresh air. And yes, play some games, while high if that's what you prefer. All of that is taking care of yourself from a physical and mental health perspective, so you don't break down, or, ideally, panic while looking at schematics.

Therapy isn't a bad idea at all, but if you're resistant to that, check those other boxes of self-care and in the process you may gain a few healthier habits.

That prior paragraph is all me - I've always avoided therapy and have had a couple of breakdowns, including a lost decade. I'm now fifty and relatively happy with my life, but only because I did put in some work on myself.

You're off to a good start with yoga and hanging out with friends. Figure out how you want to fill this time, and enjoy yourself. Dabble in things. Find new passions. Life doesn't give you time off like this often.

You are who you are, and trying to cover that up just leads to further issues down the line.

To some degree, a skill you can learn is to accept it and let it roll off. Laugh with them. Because all the time you spend dwelling on what was said to you just drags you down into a pointless funk and reframes how you think about yourself.

You're sensitive, that's an asset. If your friends want to exploit that, ask them to stop and find better friends if they won't.

That's the problem - with them, not you - they know you react, so they needle you.

It's shitty behavior and it's not harmless fun.
