What's your favorite internet "oldie"?
  • Typing JOSHUA in Terminate, the dialup BBS terminal client, to unlock the war dialer. It let you sequentially dial every phone number in a range and would record each one that answered with a modem handshake.

  • Hello fellow DJs of Reddit!
  • Hello! I'm a hobbyist/streaming DJ. I play many ravey genres including techno, house, breakbeats, oldskool rave, hardcore, hard trance, and more. I try to stream at least once per week. Nice to meet you! What do you play?

  • Can anyone suggest me a game that includes travel and is preferably not open world? Details inside...
  • The Walking Dead series by Telltale Games ticks a lot of these boxes. You travel, fight, solve puzzles, manage relationships, and make meaningful choices. It's got a lot in common with FTL even though it's a completely different genre.

  • How many of you are making your own music?
  • I used to make free open source music with MOD trackers. I've tried to figure out DAWs but find them confusing. I made a few songs with Bosca Ceoil which was a lot of fun.

Nowadays I put my creative energy into DJing. I'd love to produce again but honestly I'm just too tired.

  • Anyone else here right into emulation/roms/CFW and retro handhelds? What've you got + what are you playing?
  • I tried playing NES ROMs on my old Nintendo DSi XL but the emulator runs the games a little too fast. SNES roms run okay but the aspect ratio isn't quite right.

Surprisingly, my favourite emulator on this system is SCUMMVM. It's so much fun playing old point and click adventure games with the stylus.

  • Tell us about unpopular games you love, or even just appreciate some aspects of, contrary to the inteenet hivemind?
  • I loved this game! The humour was my favourite part - very dry and very British. A fun shooter with a lot of variety. Amazing soundtrack by Jeremy Soule. I found the game very difficult, though - I doubt I ever got close to finishing it. How about you?
