Sadly some parts of SFOS is closed source. I think it should work in the US, they just currently don't sell anything from their stores outside of the EU. Any community port should be able to run, but then without the official AndroidAppSupport and only with Waydroid.
Besides Waydroid there's also SailfishOS which has AndroidAppSupport, which works a lot better than Waydroid, but still isn't perfect. Of all the Linux mobile OSes, I think SailfishOS has the best design and ecosystem. You might have seen the preorder campaign for the new Jolla phone that might be interesting if you want to move away from Android phones.
With a SAS card in IT mode it will show up in your OS as 4 different drives. You can mix and match them however you like. You aren't restricted into pairs of 4. In fact one SAS cable can be multiplexed into many more than 4 drives.
You can often flash these raid cards into IT mode to disable raid and so that they just pass through the raw disks. That way you can hook up either SAS or SATA drives and run them with software raid of your choosing, like ZFS. SATA is probably the safer bet since you will be able to use them in a future build without issues, but there's no issue with SAS.
If you can't flash this raid card to IT mode you can buy a cheap LSI 92xx card. They are quite common and cheap, and easy to flash to IT mode.
We're talking about a controller here, not a smartphone. Rechargeable AAs are more than capable enough for these kind of devices. Not everything needs to have the energy density that Li-ion batteries provide.
ClamAV looks for signatures of known viruses, most of which target Windows and not Linux. So it's debatable how much more secure you really are by running ClamAV
Possibly the pink one was discontinued because it looks a lot like a vibrator (it technically is a vibrator in the truest sense of the word anyway, but still)
I used to be annoyed at Github projects that were Linux only but didn't mention it. Now I'm annoyed at Github projects that are Windows only but don't mention it.
I wouldn't say Bol.com is a good alternative to Amazon as their terms towards sellers is quite toxic, but I also wouldn't know any other alternative either.
Bol.com has been infested with drop shippers using ai, try searching for "aanpassing titel" lol. Besides, because of their "free shipping", most products are actually more expensive because they have the shipping price included, and you can buy it for less directly from the seller's own website.
I've stopped buying at MediaMarkt/Saturn long ago because of their non-existing customer service. I've had nothing but bad experiences everytime I have had to contact them.
