  • Sigh Lemmy has the opportunity to do something great, but no.

After sync being abusive with ad banner recently and now this, I'm just done, can't be bothered keeping track of all the bullshit, which instance to go to, which app to use.

I'll just read e-book on my free time now.

  • Sigh, I'm not the one fighting, also wasn't the one starting any sort of argument. You're being belligerent from the moment you started answering on this post, thinking you can interpret people wills and intents with absolute.

Go take a breather, realize that not everyone is out to get you, and that you don't have to turn every disagreement into a fight.

  • I precisely said that withdrawals aren't the same between the two. You simply don't understand how something can be more or less addictive, while the addictions can have radically different effects and consequences.

You can literally die from alcohol withdrawal, while that could never happen for nicotine withdrawal and yet, nicotine is much more addictive than alcohol, IE you get addicted to it much more easily.

  • How addictive it is doesn't translate as to how harmful it can be to your psyche and/or how bad the withdrawal effects are, which is what translates into people doing crazy shit for heroin, for example.

It is also ignoring how much easier you can get nicotine, compared to heroin.

This is an incredibly short sighted comment.

  • Very common on lemmy overall, and will turn it into a worst echo chamber than it already is.

Problem has been raised before, has been met with deafening silence every time, and is partly why I participate less and less in commenting.

  • "I live in a trashy society" don't we all brother

More seriously, you got great advices in the thread, esp the pen and the muffins. You can offer sweets without having it mistaken as a romantic gestures, it then depends on the sweets you offer. A box of chocolates intent can easily be misconstrued, a box of donuts/muffins, much less so. Except if said muffins have hearts on them, it's all about context.

    Good luck !

Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post
