13-Year-Old Rape Victim Forced to Give Birth Due to Mississippi’s Abortion Ban
  • Someone else in the comment section somewhere gave some links that I can go over relating specifically to what you're saying.

I'm taking a look over them to help form an opinion. Haven't look at enough to really say any more on the matter yet. Although, I really don't think that some of the concerns brought up on the other side is completely off-base either.

  • Thank you for the links. It's going to take me some time to go through it all. Have an upvote!

I watched most of video from Alexander so far and plan on finishing it. Seems like good stuff from a fairly reasonable person so far. Its giving me topics that I can use for further research on this to help develop my opinion.

  • If the same game is available and on sale on GOG and Steam, on which platform you rather buy it?
  • I use Steam mainly because I haven't found any major issues with how Valve does things overall. It's been a fairly good experience for many years. Plus, with the steam deck it's much more convenient to have on Steam.

Now, I'm thinking if the price goes low enough, I'd pick it off GoG to download the installer and store someone just in case. I like the idea of having a backup just in case.

I actually use steam to install the GoG game installers and completely bypass the heroic launcher.

In short, I hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

  • I think there was another comment that presented what most likely happened a little clearer and made much more sense. I think I can agree with. It mentioned breast reduction surgery which is already done on people 16 years old not relating to trans stuff. If that's the case, it makes much more sense to me.

I was mostly pointing out the odd fact that the original argument was that there wasn't surgery done on minors and then proceeded to support it by saying surgery was done on them while they were a minor.

While I understand the suicide aspect, there are alternatives to managing those kinds of issues that don't involve surgery.

  • My account isn't very old and many of the posts were mostly within the same thread about the same topic. It's not like I'd discuss everything I think in a single thread.

Feel free to ask me what I think about specific topics and I'm most likely willing to share.

  • [image] Both cars fit the same amount of people
  • I was pushing back against the idea that the vehicles shouldn't exist and nobody should have them. I definitely seen some people who probably don't need it.

From my personal anecdotal experience, I know someone who lives out of a trailer and they are mobile all the time. It doesn't make sense to have a truck + sedan because they move around all the time. So instead they have one of those big trucks to lug a home trailer that they can drop off and then go do anything else they need in the area. Very specific niche case, probably would be ridiculed here if seen driving on the streets.

  • So they want to keep people poor and stupid to control them? I can't really argue for or against that right now as I'm not that conservative myself.

To my understanding, Republican / Conservative tend to be closely aligned. Republican tends to favor more local control and decision making while puts the direct citizens in more control of their lives. That has a side effect of sometimes a local population might make what's perceived as silly or stupid decisions, but it's what they want.

The other side tends to go for big government with more control because to enact a lot of the policies they want done, they need that power and control. It also has a side effect of sometimes placing inefficient policies that don't take into account specific circumstances in a particular area. A possible example would be banning motors running on gas in a rural area with no infrastructure to support that kind of change. Not to mention the hindrance on those doing important jobs like food production.

  • I don't agree with either side in today's climate. I go as an independent. There are pieces of good policy on both sides.

I'm not a fan of Trump, not a fan of Biden. Voted Biden because I definitely didn't want Trump.

  • Thank you for taking the time responding. I appreciate your thoroughness. If that's the case with the surgeries, than it doesn't seem as bad considering it's the age limits that are regularly there.

From what I've experienced, people just say I'm wrong, not explain themselves. Most people in the comment section seem to have painted me as outright evil and done the exact same thing.

I do have some reservations due to how I see the trans movement portraying themselves as a whole. I'm being called for completely falling for the propaganda, but that goes both ways. For example, I'm pretty sure there isn't sufficient evidence to prove puberty blockers are completely reversible. That would take at least maybe 10 years to get good initial data, but it would probably need to be a long term study that goes even longer.

Back to my original point I was making, there are extremes on both sides I think are absolutely crazy. Just as you point out that the information from the side I lean on more definitely has some ridiculous things stated, same is for the other side. Unfortunately, those are the loudest usually.

I just want to reiterate how much I appreciate the time you took to write out your response. It was refreshing to see.

  • But... You just said you were physically altered you when you are still considered a child. What would have been the issue until waiting until you are considered an adult?

While you may possibly be an exception, the first linked video gives counter points directly relating to what you are saying right now.

  • 13-Year-Old Rape Victim Forced to Give Birth Due to Mississippi’s Abortion Ban
  • Wouldn't conservatives want the opposite? More local governance with more personal freedom?

I do agree that the abortion should be pro-choice, but it seems like you're expanding it to be much larger than just this issue.

  • Unfortunately with the way elections are set up, it doesn't properly show the will of the people. A winner takes all for congressional seats I'd say generally push only the extremes to the forefront.

There should be ranked choice voting to allow a better chance for third parties and to have a better allocation of representatives of what the people actually think and want.

  • It's been less than an hour since posting and both videos are over an hour. It seems like you didn't take the time to listen to what I was trying to show.

That's fine if you don't want to take the time, but that seems disingenuous to me since you are posting what you did.

  • To my understanding, there hasn't been enough evidence to prove that either way. That's the problem, they are essentially being experimented on and abusing a parent's fear to do it. Then some states are now forcing some of these practices into law which I know can have severe side effects.

I recommend watching this speech first: https://youtu.be/DWbxIFC0Q2o

And then maybe an interview with someone who regretted their surgery: https://youtu.be/6O3MzPeomqs

To be clear, I'm saying one side is completely bad is what I'm mainly calling out here. There isn't "The bad side", there's extremes that have gone too far.

  • 13-Year-Old Rape Victim Forced to Give Birth Due to Mississippi’s Abortion Ban
  • What's wrong with people here?!?!

I don't agree banning abortion but saying all republicans are evil is a faaaar stretch. I think the far left is just as insane as the far right.

Just look at what's been going on with the trans kid stuff. Why the hell would you permanently alter a child via surgery so young?

Chill out and realize there are crazies on both sides.

  • Remember your training and you will survive
  • I'd wager there are daily goods that have far more exploitation than most people would be comfortable with.

But you are right in some cases things aren't necessities and could probably be limited or cut out. That being said, there's a morale / mental component too. For example, you don't need that chocolate birthday cake for your sibling, parent, child, etc., but it is still is considered very important. If it wasn't there, it could be considered a huge blow and/or insulting.

  • College professors are going back to paper exams and handwritten essays to fight students using ChatGPT
  • That sounds like ot could be a focused lesson. Why try to skirt around what the desired goal is?

That also could be placed into detecting if something is wrong with AI too. Teach people things to just help spot these errors.

In my experience, it's so much more effective to learn how to find the answers and spot the issues than to memorize how to do everything. There's too much now to know it all yourself.
