Amazon will “ramp up” Prime Video ads in 2025
  • The Boys, Fallout, Invincible, Good Omens. These were all good shows, though the Boys is kinda wearing thin and I'm glad it's ending next season.

Haven't seen em, but Jack Ryan, Reacher, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel...all these seem to have done extremely well and been popular.

Sure they have their absolute disasters like the Rings of Power too, but it's not like they're on the same level of quality as like the freevee's and roku original shows.

  • Dragon Age Creator Slams "Woke" Criticism: "You're an Idiot"
  • Yes, 2 had a lot of re-used locations. Some of them did make sense, as the story was almost entirely set within a single city, so certain locations are bound to pop up multiple times, especially as the game takes place over a decade or so.

But the real reason, 2 was developed and rushed out the door in like a year or something? It was a ridiculously short amount of time to develop a sequel to a game as big as DA:O. Unsurprisingly, this led to a LOT of re used assets and locations.

But though it obviously had failings, I, like some others, would probably put DA2 as the high point for the series telling really character driven stories with the most compelling cast of characters.

  • Trump hawks $100 commemorative coins in latest hunt for cash
  • “1oz .999% silver medallions”

So the coins weigh 1 oz, and are, for all intents and purposes, 1% silver? According to a quick google, silver is worth $31.07 an ounce today. So these coins have 3.1 cents worth of silver in them.
And he's selling them for $100 each.

Or is the decimal used differently here because the Guardian is British and in this context it means 99.9%?
In that case it's $31 worth of silver sold for $100, but that seems a downright generous investment when it comes to Trump merchandise, so I'm still guessing it's 3 cents worth of silver.

  • Joe Biden makes history with 12th Senate-confirmed LGBTQ+ judge
  • Why wouldn't they confirm his appointments? Senate is controlled by dems right now. They can either confirm Biden's appointments, and have a dem judge, or not, which risks Trump making appointments to these same positions.

Only time the judges don't get confirmed at the end of a president's term is when the opposing party controls the senate. See: end of Obama's term and his appointment of Garland to the SC.

  • Fake $100 Bills Spew From US Bank's ATM As Customers Receive Paper Marked For 'Motion Picture Purposes'
  • I use US bank, and their ATMs do give the option to choose whether you receive 20s or 100s.

edit: apparently headline was misleading and it wasn't a US bank ATM, rather a US based bank's ATM, but still, point remains, some ATMs do let you choose the bill.

  • Trump pledges authoritarian crackdown, saying enemies to be prosecuted at levels "never seen before"
  • NYT and WaPo both have articles about it. Paywalled, so I can see why OP wouldn't link em. I can't even get the wsj home page to load on firefox with ublock, so I can't say whether they reported on it at all, but it's not exactly like nobody is reporting on this.

  • I wish my house cleaned itself
  • Granted. Being truly clean will of course demand sterilization. As part of a daily cleaning cycle the house seals itself and becomes an autoclave. The building becomes pressurized and the temperature is raised to 270 degrees fahrenheit for 20 minutes. You'll probably wanna be gone when it happens.

  • Space Marine 2 rejects Denuvo and DRM with a concise and simple "no"
  • Honestly, fair criticism, as it is still a $60 game and in my old timer's brain that means everything should be unlockable through gameplay. Unfortunately, that's just not how the market seems to work anymore, so I'll just be glad their extra monetization is only limited to cosmetics and not gameplay stuff as well.

  • GRRM Confirms That He's Hasn't Worked On ASOIAF Since 2022
  • I love Sanderson, he is my favorite fantasy author, and you are correct about his marvelous job finishing WoT, but he is just not the right fit tonally for ASOIAF. He doesn't even write swear words, and GRRM's books are fairly liberal with the fucks and the cunts. I would however be in favor of Joe Abercrombie or someone with a bit of a darker bent to their writing taking over if needed.
