  • I've actually been wanting to try Disco Elysium. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • I won't lie, usually Christmas is my favorite time of year. Something about the music, getting to see all my family, and trying to find inventive ways to make friends and family happy through gifts always cheers me up. Never really had the money to go all out, but the spirit was there.

This year I just do not care. Usually I listen to dozens of hours of Christmas music and this year it is less than 2 hours so far. I'm not looking forward to giving or receiving gifts; it just feels so formulaic and rabidly consumerist. My usual comfort movies hold no interest for me. I'd skip it if I could. And all of that was before my grandmother died this past Saturday.

  • I had actually assumed they stopped supporting it so I kept mine unplugged for a year or two. Turned it on the other day on a whim and was surprised by having to wait on a new update.

  • Walmart (US) a while back. I think it was advertised for small dogs.

  • Fate/Zero is the best place to start in my opinion. And a fantastic show.

Edit: And if you wanted to watch it from "the beginning" you could try Fate/Stay Night UBW, but Fate/Zero is a prequel to that (and better).

  • As long as it doesn't hinder his "elbows" any or touch his ears, he's fine with wearing most costumes/sweaters/shirts. We actually like to joke that he likes them, but I'm pretty sure he's at best just thankful for the additional warmth.

  • No leaves, but he's wearing a sweater so that counts.

  • Not quite as bendy: Enkidu

  • Link contains mild spoilers for the conclusion of the Buu Saga in Z, but pretty much what the other poster said.

As a note, GT is no longer considered "canon", so barring something strange you shouldn't have to worry about other shows spoiling anything for it. From what little I've heard about Daima, it kind of seems like an attempt to do GT but good.

  • Contrary to my usual tendencies, I was not a patient gamer with Survivor. I got it on PS5 the week it released, if I remember correctly. The performance issues were surprising (although actually still better on release than Fallen Order was), but other than that the game was an improvement for me in every way. Once a few patches came out improving stability, it completely superseded the original.

Edit: And I'm glad to hear it runs well enough on PC now; once I upgrade my GPU I may watch for a sale and double dip.

  • Even the people I know that are otherwise relatively tech savvy don't do this.

Not to say it's a good operating system, though.

  • “Humid conditions have their own sort of more perceptual limitations, that difficulty breathing, because it feels so claustrophobic,” Dr Cheng says.

“But in the dry environment, so far, the rate at which [their core temperature] is rising can be one-and-a-half to two times what we’re seeing with the more humid conditions.”

“It’s really for a lot of those nations, that don’t have a choice but to actually live in these conditions 24/7 … or for people in circumstances where air conditioning is not an option, or areas of the world where manual labour in the field is just sort of their way of life,” Dr Cheng says.

“A lot of those parts of the world that are most affected by it, are also the ones that have the least resources, I think, to deal with it.”

The researchers will keep testing the conditions on people until the end of the year.

But in the meantime, it’s given both the researchers, and Owen, an important glimpse into where the heat threshold of the human body lies.

  • The amount of tube TVs I saw on the side of to road in the US a few years ago was depressing, especially since I knew there was nothing I could do for them. They were all too large and I'm not confident enough to try any repairs on anything that potentially dangerous.

I'm glad you were able to save this one!

  • If Glass Animals still counts after "Heat Waves" blew up, I Love You So Fing Much. Dreamland kinda had to grow on me, but 3 songs in I knew the newest one had surpassed it easily. Not sure where it ranks against their first two, though. I'm bad at choosing favorites.

  • I was actually just thinking how close they got Anakin specifically, although it's more of a blend of the Episode 2 & 3 Anakins than they were probably intending.

  • The novel (written by Andrew Robinson) A Stitch in Time also confirms this physical attraction, if not specific examples of physical affection.

  • From the article, it sounds like cover shooter is an (unfortunately) small portion of what it will be. In fact, it is apparently trying to fit a whole slew of genres, which rarely works out.

Essentially, fewer is normally used for discrete numbers of things (e.g. "fewer apples", "fewer boats", or "fewer cops") while less is used for amounts (e.g. "less water", "less sand", or "less money").

As noted in the above link, there are exceptions. However, the exceptions listed are all with "than" or "or" added. Specifically, it's pointing put that while "fewer items" is correct, "3 items or less" is also considered correct.

In the case of the sign, it is referring to the specific number of officers in the city, so it should use "fewer". Does it matter? No, not really. Why did I bother saying anything? I got a chance to rep grammar and quote Stannis Baratheon at the same time.

  • Most of what I have printed with it the 0.2 mm nozzle is filament swatches with detailed info "engraved" into them. I tried to do a larger detailed piece with it, but the model wasn't print-ready and I made thin spaghetti instead.
