Holy shit same, I put it off for a long time because of the hate. Maybe it was buggy shit, but I don't have a lot of complaints and now it's got me hooked like digital crack.
I did play the shit out of Vemintide many moons ago, so shooty co-ops must be my kink.
I totally understand why the word luxury can sound off here. I just meant that being vegan or vegetarian often takes extra time, knowledge, and access. Things that aren’t always easy for everyone.
I think it’s great when people can make it work, but not everyone has the same options or support. It’s less about right or wrong choices and more about recognizing that everyone’s circumstances are different.
I'm trying to be empathetic, because it really feels like lashing out at the wrong targets here. Hopefully we can agree society is the problem, not the people in the society who can't access these choices.
Veganism is a luxury of modern times and certain social economic circles. Bless people for being able to keep to it. Personally I can't, not because I love murdering innocent animals but feeding myself and a family is a complex task with the items I have in my area and the time I have.
I was able to do meatless days more often when I had a market down the road and didn't have many mouths to feed, but now I've moved and the local produce is complete garbage and I have to put my effort into other items into the day that are unfortunately not meal prep.
This is not me saying "Veganism bad" this is saying you can't assume everyone has the same situations you do. Change things from the top, not beat up people just trying to make it day to day.
This works really well! Think you did a few other smart things I missed, like simplifying the colors around the title. Double line border with the interior line tucked behind them creates so nice separation between foreground/background.
Much improved with only a few little tweaks.
Think I read someone mentioned the space ship being a little too faded, maybe play with saturating it a little more so it doesn't get lost too much in the fog. But doesn't pop out too much and distract.
But yeah you could slap this up and call it a day as is.
Yup been doing this for a long time. My mantra is essentially "less is more". Because if the design doesn't communicate clearly you're overworking it.
The hardest thing about the job is knowing where to stop. Design isn't about showing off, it's about quick and clear communication of visual elements.
Everything you got going on is working to some extent. I think it speaks "space game". Using purples/blues, literally showing space and ships all melds that message. The aristocratic outfits of the people communicates, they are not doing the dirty work "strategists/rulers". Not making aggressive movements, arms crossed is "thought" again strategy. You could vary them more if you want to push conflict between the two, alter colors change them to reflect opposites.
Depends what on what you're trying to sell. Right now they are similar enough they could brother and sister from the same background. Essentially you have a visual comparison of a green apple vs a red apple, instead of an apple vs orange.
I could analyze this to death ☠️. Just trust your gut. I'm just rattling this shit off as I wait for files to load.
Personally for a quick visual read I think #1 works best. If you are going to keep the medallion the focus is nice. Just really watch the negative space circled in red. Those create visual traps and minor distractions. You want them balanced or cleaned up. Maybe even fade out the medallion in those area so you don't have competing lines.
The swish of the ring around the planet (yellow) is doing a great job leading the eye to the middle and providing some asymmetry. Don't lose that. The gap behind the first person head (red) creates a visual stop for the eye from that swish of the ring, could shift it to fill that area in and not have a shift on contrast. Or pull the person out or back a little. It's at this not enough or too little of negative space that causes a focus unfortunately at the very start of the visual line aiming toward the middle.
The line should not go all the way across and shouldn't be that thick. You want it to not "trap" the two lines of text. Also the line from one person to another creates a visual relationship that cuts the design in half when it should flow through.
These are all minor suggestions. I'd say the biggest is really watch the negative space between and the competing lines of the shape (medallion) behind the text. Makes it harder to read with all the visual static. All the lines, border of the medallion and the line through are equal thickness to the text. It lacks separation between elements. You need to modify the widths.

What I pictured in my head, not just one person. But a bunch of people fused together cranking out posts, like that thing. I'd probably not look it up unless you want to be grossed out.
Obviously I'm being hyperbolic, but it does feel like this sometimes.
I dig the culture, I think the dozens of you out there are fine people and I appreciate the tone the majority has established of being open-minded and inclusive.
Once you remove the tag the ancient protection seal is broken. Without it the monster that lives under your bed is now allowed on your bed. The monster doesn't eat you or anything. The monster likes to warm it's cold feet on your back and steal all the covers, so it's a terrible sleeping partner.
I agree it's weirder that people don't recognize poor people as humans with human needs.
It's ok to stop and get a $7 coffee sometimes and still be poor. You are allowed to spend $100 at a bar and be poor. Not everyone is mismanaging their money that got them to be poor, some of them grew up in it and stay that way.
Some poor people know there is no miracles going to pull them out of a shitty situation, doesn't mean they need to live a life of fucking toil and despair. Everyone needs to get off their fucking backs for enjoying a moment of what most well off folks get to enjoy without a thought.
Another of my top fav illustrators today! Been a good day to scroll. It was wild he was once commissioned to do a Chipotle bag. Should have bought one to keep.
Does this take me their OnlyBones?
