"the enemy within"
  • Not at all. In general the political climate is terrible. I can talk shit because I'm not afraid to do so. You see I do have rights, and that's something Americans are about to lose. That worries me.

And chosing between two evils is a bad position to be in, but they can still chose. What I don't understand is why the American people are so reluctant to choose for freedom under democracy, albeit shabby, over a dictatorship with a senile maniac that hasn't worked a day in his life. He's everything parents warn children about, yet the parents still chose him. Wtf?

  • You choose, even when you don't vote
  • I like this, talking about your mental health. Whatever that means for many others, it's just about you.

Honestly your mental health will be alot worse off if you're part of the problem. Just vote.

I'm not an American (thank fuck) but I don't see any reason why I'd help red. At all. It's blue all the way since at least Kamala has some sense in her.

Ask yourself, why does everyone care about Palestinians so badly, do you even know any to begin with?

I am al for ending suffering but it seems the focus about what it's really about is lost in the elections...

  • it's talk tuah tuesday
  • Yeah this is not real tho

For some reason she gets quoted with opinions that she never even expressed.

People are using her to make their opinions popular. She's, dare I say, a victim in this situation.

  • Climate Change Is So Bad, Even the Arctic Is On Fire | From Siberia to Brazil, wildfires are moving underground and burning up massive carbon deposits. The resulting emissions worsen global warming
  • I'm not American myself. But have you watched the movie "don't look up" ? It's about a huge world wide threat, in the form of a comet, that will kill everyone. Politics (in an absurdist way) make it impossible to do something against the threat.

It's a worldwide problem. People actively lobbying against climate laws are criminals and should be treated like it. People need to be educated and activated to fight it. That hasn't happened yet. The damage is done.

You see. Temperature and climate aren't the things that'll kill us. We can adapt to almost anything as long as we agree to do it together. Even if its not "economically viable". We have reached space and built towers higher than the clouds, for crying out loud.

But ecosystems in general will not adapt, at all. So realise that, if we succeed to change the course of this climate change, the ecosystems that are collapsing already will not magically fix themselves. In fact, they'll still probably collapse. We are part of these systems too.

I would love to be positive about the small victories, but we are going to see some very hard to process changes in the coming years. It will get worse before anything will get better.

  • Climate Change Is So Bad, Even the Arctic Is On Fire | From Siberia to Brazil, wildfires are moving underground and burning up massive carbon deposits. The resulting emissions worsen global warming
  • Honestly getting very numb to this constant stream of negativity.

I want so bad to do right for this planet and the future of all living things, but my 9 solar panels and a hybrid car will not change the impending doom that is upon the planet...

In all fairness it's getting kind of funny. How we aren't absolutely slaughtering those responsible is beyond me. People got their heads cut of for far less.

  • Cleanup Group Says It's on Track to Eliminate the Great Pacific Garbage Patch
  • They are doing similar tryouts in Big Rivers now too. But that's a lot harder than cleaning what's already stagnant.

The sheer force of the water and waste is difficult to hold in place with nets. But they're definitely working on it.

I trust programs like this and admire the work. It's a good thing for life in general to get rid of that shit. It's just abysmal that companies still use so much plastic for everything.

  • Please stop the bus of life, I want to get off
  • Where does it say you don't get paid?

Also, in terms of understanding how things happen, this is definitely not a bad thing.

So many people take everything for granted. I worked a couple of years in agriculture. Long days, tough work. I will never look down on a farmer, and it thought me some neat lessons in life too.

  • The MAGA plan to stop forest fires: Remove the forest | Project 2025 plans to increase commercial logging to fight wildfires. Ecologists and fire experts say this will make fires worse.
  • Honestly you must be dumber than sticks to not understand what is being said here.

There are ways to cut trees to make forest fires spread slower, like for example a firebreak. It can slow firespread to critical areas or even stop it from advancing altogether. There is thought put into a firebreak. Not just reckless cutting.

Drumpf wants to cut "all the trees", because no trees is no forest, and no forest is no forest fires.... Some Idiocracy type thinking if you could even call it that.

    Get better.
