Mind sharing why you left reddit?
I have bunch of expensive used clothing to sell and I know a guy who is a high ranked seller on ebay and Amazon. I asked him over the phone whether he can sell them for me for a fee if I ship them to him. He said he can. I really trust this guy but technically if he ever decides to run away with them there is nothing I can do. I think I need to get some sort of a written guarantee of payment but I am really hesitant to do so because it would look like I am suspecting him. What should I do? Is there a polite way to ask for this?
As a person who just left reddit due to being tired of reddit mods' power tripping, I asked folks here what are their reasons behind migrating here from other forums (most likely reddit too). It seems like none of the folks who answered had complaints on reddit mods. Do folks here not feel the same about reddit mods as I do?
I heard Lemmy mods are volunteers too. How do they compare to reddit mods? Did Lemmy do anything to ensure no power abuse to happen?
Any cases of "power tripping" by the mods? I feel reddit mods in general fail to be impartial. What is Lemmy's approach to prevent that?
Sorry, not exactly following you. So are Lemmy mods volunteers too?
Seems like you were disappointed on mods just like me. I am personally shocked to see you and I are the only one in thise post.
It is something I need to figure out on my own but what is moderation like here? Similar to reddit? Are mods paid or volunteers?
What do you think about moderation on reddit?
...
But why did you decide to choose fediverse when reddit and 4chan are much bigger and popular? What did you not like about reddit and 4chan?
What do you mean by general instance?
Were you a mod?
Why did you leave reddit? Mind sharing?
Just left reddit because I got tired of moderation and I do not agree with political views over all. I never tried 4chan because I heard it's messed up and supposedly inject maleware on visitors like porn sites do.
As a person new to Lemmy, I just wanna know why you chose here and what you like/ dislike about there.
