I'm not sure if there's a term for it, but you can repeat a progression without resolving the chords to build tension. It might be a suitable effect and help with finishing it.

Trying to over-specify goals and whatnot is the #1 killer of new communities. It's best to let things develop organically with a bit of guidance from mods/admins and the community to keep jerks and Nazi nonsense out. An image of a specification will emerge by the time it's necessary to specify to keep things from getting out of hand.

Arturia synths helpfully choose a random preset when loaded, so I didn't have to do anything there. I switched from quiet mode to performance later on to go really wild with voices. This is with a i7-12700H. The fact that I had to contrive an absurd scenario to push it tells me any modern CPU can handle music production just fine.
