FYI whatever is going on with language settings seems to be significantly affecting kbin as well. Most of the posts here aren't showing up over there at all; and the ones that do show up have no/few comments.

There are definitely longer story arcs in Lower Decks :)

Try starting with season 1 episode 9, Crisis Point and watch forward from there for a few episodes. If you enjoy it, go back and watch the rest.

Why not do like Hemmer and just beam out a chunk of the planet's core? Done strategically, this could have a similar impact to the bomb planted on Qo'nos in Discovery.

Why waste a whole Voyager when you can rig two quantum torpedoes to make the entire planet's atmosphere uninhabitable?

On the other hand, such innovations coming "free" to society in fact frees up theorists, researchers, scientists, engineers, etc. to work on other innovations that they might not have time/resources to pursue.

Most of Admiral Janeway's goodies are tucked away at Daystrom as a "break glass" last-resort. You don't show your hand to your enemies unless you have to.
