Average US Car-Brained Citizen Starter Pack
Then wait a little longer until we get to the point where gas is so expensive that even subsidized fuel is no longer affordable.
I was going to make fun of this thread by saying some dumb thing but then I noticed your comment ... this is your thread now ... my condolences to you and your family ... and you should clear coat that section of the wall to preserve it forever ... and if you ever renovate or change your house ... carefully carve out that section of wall, frame it and display it as a family heirloom.
Just wait until we can't afford gas any more .... everyone will start bicycling, running, walking and using public transit and asking for trains like it was the logical thing to do all along.
Are you sure that was a punishment .... or a reward?
Sounds more like a new line up of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of those suffering from delusions of grandeur and acute narcissism
It just goes to show how law abiding and passive the majority of Americans are. You'd think most people would take advantage of it all and start robbing, looting, kidnapping and raping everywhere.
It's a good sign of American humanity.
But a bad sign that will usher in full blown fascism.
Even if you have 30 years of life left, I don't think the average person (including me) could survive 30 days in a deserted island. Which means you would spend the rest of your life there.
Because your dishwasher knows how drunk you are and is trying to tell you those aren't fries and they're not the microwave
I usually hold onto the box of anything I buy brand new for about three months. After that you can get rid of it.
Electronics either work or they don't, there is seldom anything in between.
If your device doesn't fail or develop problems within a month or two, then it will last the warranty period and much longer if you take care of it.
I just hang onto the box for two or three months just to be sure.
The only other reason to hang onto the box is if you plan on reselling the device in a year or two. It's a lot easier to resell for top dollar or a higher price if your device is clean, undamaged, has original manuals and the original box.
Political violence is quintessentially American Conservatism
A lot of that historical violence has been directed at minorities, social groups, marginalized groups, Indigenous people, LGBTQ+, union workers, blacks, Hispanics, women
If you want to narrow it all down ... most of the American political violence, the majority of it over the past 200 years was driven by white Christian males who believe they are a ruling class and need to be on top overpowering everyone else for their own personal benefit .... usually with the lame excuse that it is God's will. And I honestly also don't believe it has anything to do with God or Christianity or even religion ... it's just a small entitled group of people who just want all the power, all the money and all the control ... you know the same jungle mentality of that one male monkey who wants all the bananas and all the females and be able to pound their chest and make everyone scared.
I'm Indigenous Canadian and this does not mean I want to jump over the political cliff and call for the end of all white Christian males ... I'm just pointing out the history ... and what I believe is that we can all coexist together without any one group dominating over another and everyone just living together equally - socially and economically.
Trickle down economics ... give more money to the ultra rich and eventually some money goes down to the people at the bottom of the economic system
The problem they've discovered after 50 years of this system is that there just isn't enough money in the universe to send to the top and allow enough of it to flow down to the bottom.
A billion dollars only allows a dollar to get to a person living on the street ... so we have to send billions, trillions, gajillions of dollars to the super-ultra-giga rich to get enough money to average people.
This is the problem of trickle down economics .... we just haven't given enough money to the top yet
We have to give the rich more! ... in order to save the poor ... do it for the poor!
That was urine right? .... not the emissions of an alien orgasm, which to us would look like someone peeing
It could be a child or someone with dwarfism holding an oversized banana ... we need more info
Terrorism? .... someone can just rob a bank and get away with it
The local news would post a picture asking people if they saw someone dressed up like ICE
is there an option for 'All Of The Above'?
I just ignore the call
If it was important, they'll call again
If it was an emergency, they'll call non-stop and text a bunch of times
Otherwise, most times, when it's not important, the person calls once, realizes it wasn't important and doesn't call again
We were helping to move a friend from one house to another years ago. It was all rushed with little time to do or plan anything ... we had to move truckloads towing trailers full of all their things and drive 400km to make a deadline. And we had to start by driving to them 500km away first! And it all had to happen within 20 hours ... it was complete insanity. I ended up driving, packing, working, then driving again non-stop for about 30 hours to everything to the new house. And midway through the trip of hauling everything, we drove through the biggest lightning rain storm I've seen in years. The only way to keep things from getting totally soaked was to keep moving.
I remembering driving past the rain and weather and it was 4am and we were dead tired and couldn't stay awake. We parked on the side of the road and I sat in my driver seat and finally fell asleep. Unfortunately, I was so full of coffee, sugar and food that I couldn't really sleep ... my body went offline and my brain kept racing. I started dreaming that I was still driving and in my driving dream, I kept pushing myself to stay awake and not drift off the road. In my dream, I kept dozing off and wandering on the road. In the dream, I kept scaring myself, held on to the steering wheel and bolted awake again ... and again ... and again. Finally, still in the dream, I fell asleep and as I dozed off I knew I was drifting off the highway at speed and I could see and feel the truck crashing into the bushes, the trees and into the forest .....
I bolted wide awake back into reality, gripped the steering wheel like a madman and slammed on the horn and the brakes as hard as I could ..... I was still sitting quietly on the highway shoulder. My cousin in the other truck walked over and asked if I was OK and asked why I just sounded my horn.
I was so freaked out by the experience that I stayed awake for the rest of the drive.
that is either an enormous banana or the smallest cat I've ever seen
If you run away to an island after only half an hour of work ... I don't think you'll be spending 30 years there ... you'll be spending the rest of your life there
Fossil fuel is renewable .... we just have to wait millions of years for it renew itself
