Sometimes I set the Eudora xylophone sound as a mail notification on my phone. Nobody has noticed though.

Does your system have two graphics processors? One of my laptops won't work with many distros as they boot to blank screens after install. Fedora was one that does work in my case.

I'm using Microsoft SwiftKey. Might be the default behaviour for that too.

I think flash memory degrades over time. This can render any phone useless given enough years of service, but this might vary a lot between brands and usage habits. A dash cam app can kill some phones surprisingly fast.
Lan sync is their only killer feature.
Decided to restore this old thing from out in the shed. It was in the weather for a couple of years, and I think it's 20+ years old.
Replaced the pump with a USB powered 5 watt silent one.
Replaced the halogen lamp with an LED one.
Cleaned as much as I could.
Seems to be working well. How long the $12 ebay pump lasts remains to be seen.

For some reason the screen is not resetting between scenes, giving him an unusually busy world. It's running 24/7 on XP but it's a 16 bit app.
