Netflix password crackdown has actually caused a growth in Subscriptions
  • I didn’t want to subscribe to Netflix but I subscribed after using someone else’s account for years just because my wife was insistent about it.

We already have access to someone’s Plex with Ombi and can request whatever TV shows or movies we want. But she’s too impatient to even wait for max. 24 hours for a movie or a season of a TV show to be downloaded. And sometimes requests fail, since it’s reliant upon inherently unreliable means of downloading like torrents.

Netflix is unfortunately still more convenient than piracy for the average user. But if it was up to me only, I wouldn’t have chosen to subscribe.

  • Google decimates Twitter search results after Elon Musk imposes limits on reading tweets
  • Impersonating a Googlebot user-agent isn’t a perfect test though, since you’re supposed to implement IP verification too - either checking against a known list of Google crawler IPs or doing a PTR lookup. See https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/verifying-googlebot

Question is whether or not Twitter has competent software developers implementing stuff correctly anymore. Anyone’s guess at this point.

  • Friday Thread
  • It’s not creepy or anything, but personally I’d prefer a more relaxed vibe like a bbq or a couple of evening drinks. Just make sure the invite is super casual, like “hey it’d be great to get to know you guys over a tea or coffee whenever you’ve settled” and then invite them again in 2-3 weeks or something.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 was “better than it was received,” CDPR dev says
  • I went back and played it again a couple of weeks ago on PS5 with all the updates applied and…yeah, it’s still bad. Graphics look nice but the gameplay is terrible. Loads of bugs still with random glitching through surfaces, NPCs glitching and doing random shit, gun-play still clunky as hell, still no police chases. The whole game just feels soulless and I personally don’t find any fun in playing it.
