That checks out. I think I beat most of my friends simply because I remember a chess aficionado mentioning the center as being important to hold.
Being able to parse a specific ruleset, or doing a specific kind of math fast
Oh man, I would love competitive tabletop games, where the goal isn't to min/max your build, but to min/max your build after being given a brand new system and 45 minutes to read the rules.
I doubt anyone will invade the us. China, if it had any military movement, is much more likely to want to consolidate everything close to it. Japan, eastern russia, the philippines, korea. Canada doesn't have the motivation to invade (it might allow areas to join if our military is dead enough to not fuss about it), and mexico doesn't have the wherewithal to use their military against the cartels (they did let their military loose once and it was kicking some ass, but they stopped because of internal reasons), much less a foreign country. They might annex parts of the southern states, in the same manner as canada if the military is done for.
India definitely doesn't want to suddenly build the logistics to invade, no south american country wants the headache, and european areas will probably be looking to their east.
Russia might be the only one with the motivation and quasi-ability to do it. They wouldn't get much more than they are currently out of ukraine, but it's possible putin would make a play for alaskan territory. I think it's unlikely, considering china would really take advantage of that extended and vulnerable supply chain.
Even worse! It was about a car with a warranty that wasn't being worked on!
Never let your kidnapper take you to a secondary location.
It really sucks when it doesn't work though. I used to wake up 5 minutes before my alarm like clockwork, and then ONE day I didn't set it. Well, guess what phone call I get that lovely morning.
I still get emails from AmeriCorps every now and then. It was a fun year of camping in a tent and maintaining trails and such in remote parks, and then another fun year of working in an impoverished school with families who needed help applying for aid. It is mind boggling that these idiots think the best way of saving money is cutting people from the workforce who make a stipend (not even a wage, so it can be fucked with in taxes even more) of something like $11,000 a year... and thus losing labor that makes a large impact down the road.
Was this the girl with 6 teslas that has been seen posting about her experiences camping with them? Or is that another generic blonde with too much money?
On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog 16/f/cali dog lover.
People got IP banned all the time. How would they do that based on a post if there wasn't IP data connected to the messages? Combine with text being small storage size, and I can't believe that anyone over the age of 22 thought that there was any true anonymity from the backend.
Those runescape players are going to be very confused when they learn how to use the mouse to look around.
I think the best WoD game I've seen was a 2 player game on a forum. Both of them put a lot of effort into their characters, and the DM just built a beautiful setting out of detroit. The way the spirit reflected the physical, and how the npc interactions built the story was just so cool to read.
Our best was 4e. The absolutely locked down mechanics let our poor permanent DM plan things out really well, and I got in some lovely character stuff.
Fate was also pretty good. The looseness let the DM sort of lead the sessions into quasi-not combats even if that approach was taken.
Don't blaspheme in this holy house, heretic!
Is that your ingrained response to anything that fits? Because I've got some objects for you to look at...
you know, (con)sensually.
The real problem with WoD games? The setting books and DM intros are always so good at crafting that beautiful eerieness of the monsters in the shadows, while the average group handles everything by clunking around like toddlers on stilts.
My group tried three times, then it was back to standard 'kick-in-the-door' style games. Roleplaying isn't the easiest thing, and it sucks. I just want a good werewolf or hunter game with some nice politicking and investigation. I'm not even asking for anything crazy, like an introspective mage or changeling meditation session! /cries_in_desperate_desire
and WoD is World of Darkness, the 'master' setting that the various vampire, werewolf, changeling, mage, promethian, hunter, etc. games are set within.
Brb, drinking soy from 38 states so I can start the ball rolling on some constitutional amendments. The first one will be, "All population will be entitled to two-ply toilet paper."
Everything is more illegal when high, according to this one judge that talked to me. He acted all high and mighty from his little fortress seat, but I have a drill. I could sap that fortress if I wanted to.
