  • Wait, so 3 years apart, they did almost the exact same genie comic? Except it’s Heathcliff holding it instead of a mouse?

Edit: I just noticed the trash ones, and that there are actually two different milk ones. I almost didn’t see that those two were different at all. These comics make me legitimately angry.

  • Funny thing is, I’ll bet it’s the exact opposite for cis men. I’m willing to bet that if somebody actually did some blood tests, you’d see a surge of testosterone during and after the act compared to prior arousal. One that likely far outstrips the relevance of any dubious exposure to estrogen. I think we should perform this experiment. Maybe even see if there are differences between men and make some correlations.

  • We use Dell WD-19 docks. Not sure if you use similar. Updated dock firmware and laptop drivers made a difference for us with connection issues. Sometimes you gotta perform a reset on them to make them behave (disconnect dock power and USB-C and hold power button for just over 15 sec). Sometimes the laptop NVRAM needs to be reset instead (for Dell, disconnect all devices and power while off and hold button for just over 30 sec). Overall, though, no huge issues with DP specifically if the dock and laptop firmwares are up to date. Third-party docks/replicators definitely have way more issues, though.

  • I could’ve sworn Jim Beam whiskey was Jim Bean. A friend of mine had a poster of a whiskey bottle on his wall that I stared at every time I was there. He was a minor at the time and didn’t drink, so I always wondered why he had it up. Years later I saw a Jim Beam bottle and had a Mandela moment. The Berenstein Bears and Mandela dying in jail were things I believed, too, but I think the whiskey one is one I haven’t heard from anybody else, yet.

  • As many companies now use Bitlocker encryption, you’ll probably Bitlock your work partition by trying to install the second drive internally. IF YOU MUST boot to another drive, keep it external. And DO NOT unlock or mount your work partition in your personal OS. Really, though, you shouldn’t do this at all.

  • I once met a man who was just trekking across the country. Took a rest next to me at the bus stop in my city with his a big ol’ frame backpack; one of those ones you would take on a long multi-day backcountry hike with a sleeping bag. He said he had just come down out of the mountains. Until then, I had not met a single person who even tried to make that journey in either direction on foot, but this person apparently would walk huge portions of an entire state on a frequent basis. You could tell he wasn’t like other homeless people. He actually seemed happy.

  • You see a genocide, chastise the people committing it, then go on to fully support some OTHER genocide as not being good enough, because of the genocide? In a single post you’ve demonstrated that you’re no better than any of the groups of people you’re referring to within it. That’s some real batshit drivel there, my fellow human. You should get that checked out.

  • For vacation properties and stuff, it’s sometimes far from worth it. Some timeshares work for people, though. For example, it’s common for aspiring pilots to own a timeshare on an airplane so they can fly on their own and log hours without actually owning a plane of their own. If it’s something you’re actually going to use, it can be ok. I went on a trip with a family who owned a timeshare on a giant houseboat in Lake Powell. It was pretty freaking awesome, actually. Each year, the family members pitch in to help pay for the trip, and you can fit a lot of people on a houseboat. Nobody wants to actually own a houseboat and deal with all the bullshit that comes with something like that. A boat is a money pit to begin with, so a timeshare on one actually looks much more desirable to some people.

That being said, the sales tactics some companies use are designed to fool people into buying something they won’t get the value out of. They don’t care. I’ve always imagined that those little seminars they give to get you to buy one have another table right out the back door when you’re leaving that will sell you help to get rid of it. There’s NO WAY there’s not people covertly playing both sides of that.

  • I would imagine peroxide is good just for that—from time to time. If you’re treating an ongoing infection, it may be more wise to use something a bit gentler. The acidic vinegar will still do some work, but without the risk of shedding your flesh off if you were to use peroxide many days in a row.
