I wonder what kind of integration this could possibly have with the Vision, I like my AirTags and can’t really think of what else could be added for a second generation version.

Report: Apple working on new external display for Macs that can double as a smart home display in low-power mode

Between this and the iOS 17 standby feature, it seems like Apple likes the idea of displays showing information instead of just being black. Not really sure why they wouldn’t just make this a macOS feature though, dumb to limit this to some sort of smart monitor instead of just using the computer it is connected to.

Reddit says new accessibility tools for moderators are coming. Mods are skeptical
  • I strongly believe they are just inept. They didn’t understand what value third party apps actually brought. None of the decision makers actually mod anywhere so they probably aren’t aware that reddits official tools are lacking.

iPhone 15 is coming, and these features will be worth the wait

iPhone 15 looks to be a pretty great update, at least for the Pro. Personally I have been holding out for a USB C iPhone so I was going to upgrade whenever that happened but there are some other things that look good as well.

Why would Reddit push users away from their app shortly before announcing API changes?
  • I don’t think there was a whole lot of forethought other than “third party app users would make us more money if they switched over to the official app”

I don’t get the sense that there was even clear communication within Reddit administration itself given they were assuring devs that they would work with devs and it would be affordable initially.

  • Notifications asking me to rate recently watched movies

When did they make this a feature? My son watched a movie this morning and I got a notification asking how it was and to rate the movie.

I can't believe how sycophants some people are.
  • I’m baffled as to how anyone would believe any of the public assurances Reddit has made at this point. No one has the ability to hold them accountable to any of their promises so they’ll just quietly never implement them.

The iOS subreddit now only has NSFW posts
  • Yeah I think making it so low effort content ruins the sub is good enough without allowing NSFW content. I think generally this is the best way for mods to protest though. Let subs become practically useless when community rules no longer are enforced

  • iPhone subreddits is back online with the picture of Tim Cook
  • Got to love the users who entirely miss the point. Complaining that this is ruining their experience, well go complain to Reddit for failing to listen to community feedback and refusing to negotiate.

Users of subs are choosing these paths which is way more user driven than what Reddit admins are doing.

The Steam subreddit has been forced back open.

Looks like Reddit is forcing another sub open, but there are users advocating changing the sub to be about actual steam.
