  • Best source. I usually make mine hard boiled so I can take them on the go or make egg salad. Little salt, little pepper, all delicious protein.

I will pay an arm. I will pay a leg. I will pay a fortune just to get my egg. - Dr. Seuss

  • Its not lost on me that AI portrays Biblically accurate angels more machine than organic. And that's a camera in the center if I've ever seen one. Interesting.

  • I'm not sure how I feel about ice cream shaped eggs. My brain would be expecting cold ice cream while my tongue would be reporting, "Belay that! BELAY THAT! Its warm eggs."

Kind of like when my mom asked my step dad if he wanted water with his supper and she gave him Sprite. He didn't really look and I watched his brain fizzle for a good 10 seconds when he drank it.

  • Builds. Build builds builds. Whether its slowly tailoring your class to a build, or roguelike unlocking items and abilities to build around each run. It's why I like things such as Diablo, PoE, Last Epoch, Binding of Isaac, Tales of Maj'Eyal, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, etc.

Its also why I was severely disappointed with ArcheAge. And unhappy when I returned to GW2 to find my world bossing combat medic off-meta bleed Warrior pretty much useless. Used to tank boss AoEs to revive downed people using healing shouts and increased revival speed. They nerfed and removed the revival speed node from Warrior and the build lost half it's function.

  • Be honest about it if you get an interview, but be clear that it took some time to get where you needed to be. Let them know that you've worked hard to get the help you needed and are more than ready to get back into the world.

When Chewy hired me for remote work, they also asked what I had done during my unemployment. They seemed pleased to hear I had been building skills in web design and UI/UX as well as becoming a professional typist at 90 wpm average. So have your accomplishments ready, no matter how small they may seem.

  • I've pre-ordered games due to hype a few times and every time I do I get shafted and dev runs with my money. Now I stick to promising EAs. If I pay 20-30 bucks for EA, get some fun out of it and then dev runs at least I got some fun out of it.

  • One that's two years old at that. Its not the best solution, but it's the only one we have if you absolutely need glide typing.

It hitches up sometimes and I find myself getting the wrong words more than other glide typing solutions from closed source keyboards, but it's not horrible.

Sorry I wasn't more clear on this in my original post.

  • What about a Dell AIO?

  • Who needs a network stack when you can speak to God on your OS? Isn't he like... connected to everything anyway?

  • Lol I know the pain. It takes a few days to get to acceptable typing speed, but you can get pretty fast (some report 56 wpm which is pretty good for a virtual keyboard).

Just make sure you know what you want between Thumbkey or Messagease layouts. I started with Messagease layout and it was all good until I spotted some really nice Thumbkey programmer layouts and switched.

  • Heliboard has multiple dictionary support. Florisboard is still in development for this feature, from what I know. Unexpected Keyboard has none by design, being made for termux and programming.

The unconventional list also has none by design, maybe because there's less of a chance to fat thumb the keys.

Heliboard would be your winner there, for now.

  • He's been so deeply invested in code itself and cloistered in Udemy courses. Trust me, I know how it sounds.

He really doesn't communicate with others in the business, which right now I think is his downfall. No connections.

He's the "no distractions and dive into paid resources" type of learner and I'm the "scour the web and find news and free resources" type of learner, but I'm easily distracted.

  • I've been down this rabbit hole and here's the haul from Wonderland:

    Conventional:

    • Heliboard - Has glide typing, but the available library is unstable and old. The most polished.

    • Florisboard - Currently under heavy development, but what's there is more than usable and very well done.

    • Unexpected Keyboard - I actually love this one, but as a Fold user I need some auto correct. Uses swipe motions on each key for symbols and punctuation.

    Unconventional:

    • Thumbkey - A 3x3 grid using taps and swipes to type. I flip flop between this and Heliboard atm. Has circular motions to input caps or numbers. MASSIVE amount of layouts, including language, programmer, writer and more. Easy layout switch key on the fly.

    • Flickboard - Same setup as Thumbkey. This would be my go to ever since they added a landscape layout that smart switches on inner Fold screen, but there's no separate key height for it, so you have to deal with non-uniform on one screen which isn't easy to type on. Also has circular motion for caps. No numeric, but there's the option of having a small number column.

    • 8vim - The only one of it's kind since 8pen died. I'm learning this one and it's great, but wonky on inner Fold screen. Its hard to explain, but you use circular motions around on X wheel to input whole words at a time letter by letter. Start center, drag out into a quadrant, rotate to get your letter, go back to center, without lifting go to your next quadrant for the next letter. When you're done and back on center, let go to insert space, or you can move out into a quadrant then lift to end without a space. Takes a lot of getting used to.

  • Agreed. I NEETed for five years. Never left my apartment, sponged off my gf, terrified of going out. Even that long is hard to get out of.

Thankfully I kept my weight mostly in check and I still had some humble charisma when I needed to interact with people. This let me seek help which culminated in severe anxiety and sleep apnea diagnoses.

Let me tell you, though. Even 5 years is enough to make any sort of potential employer wrinkle their nose at your application. I had to dig hard through my grave topsoil.

  • I once worked with that one person. You know the one, heavy enjoyer of cannabis even on the job. He was THE person. No, let me put it into perspective.

The guy would down a full bottle of cannalean 1k nano THC before work and would come in with a massive 500mg candy in his mouth. This kid would impress old Tommy Chong.

The first thing he'd ever tell you is that he ate human flesh. Apparently, him and a buddy were cooking something and his buddy cut the tip of his finger off on the cutting board. He said that they both stared at it for a long time before my coworker asked, "Can I eat that?" If its true, these guys had to have been blasted.

Shame he was fired for sleeping on the job.

  • My much brainier than me friend was telling me about the courses he was taking to apply to Oracle. I had to break it to him how far down they've fallen, and not to expect anything working for them. He's smart, but not in the right social channels like the Fediverse to see what the real people are saying.

  • This. I rocked a 3 for 3 years. My inner screen peeled year one. Being a dummy, I thought it would be fine. The inner crease started to peel just a tiny bit after year 2. It was small and still worked great. I got full trade in value for it and my Fold 6 has 0 problems.

Unless you get a factory defect, folding phones are amazing if you're gentle with opening and closing them

  • I've always had a pretty shitty stomach (haha), but it really drove home just a couple weeks back. I'm not bad at getting fiber, but I don't go out of my way to chase it. I recently started Kratom at nighttimes for anxiety and RLS, and have been enjoying it. Kratom solidifies bowel matter and causes constipation.

I took it for a few months (8 grams a day; 4 in the morning 4 in the evening) and I didn't really bother to make sure I had fiber, water, and maybe a small bit of laxative with my dosage. As of a couple weeks ago, I no longer have an appendix.

So. Fiber good. Much fiber. I eat shredded wheat every morning now and try to take in some leafy greens with my suppers/lunches as well as trying to limit my overall dairy intake. There's also diverticulitis on my dad's side and diabetes on my mom's. I'm 35. It's time to be extremely careful with my diet and now I only take sugar in the mornings with my coffee/tea and it's half of what I used to put in it.

    Stay healthy out there, folks.
