It wouldn't have worked. They were at war and wanted to fight. You see it even in Bad Batch - clones so attached to being a soldier and fighting they want to serve the new Empire, even as the Empire is "decomissioning" them. Theres an arc where a senator asks what they want to do now that they're retired and the initial reply is "uh we don't want to be, we want to continue being soldiers" even though the Empire was evil. Clones leaving service was so odd they get side stories specifically about them.
They would have been largely immune to that kind of propaganda, although it could have made a nice arc for Padme, instead of half the...whatever boring shit she and jarjar got up to.
It's a simple equation. But out of habit and not wanting to get it wrong, we type it into a calculator just to be sure, but it makes you look dumb, so you look around to ensure no one thinks you can't do basic math
This is also possible! I could be wrong and this entire succession and even announcement was planned. Still not happy about a marketing guy taking the helm but ah cest la vie.
Not specifically trying to wade into politics so I will keep it middle-road.
Additionally, Nintendo branding has come under some....less than positive light between pokemon game issues, lawsuits of palworld, the negativity around the recent "summon and battle" patent, and more even against the very strong sales of the Switch 2 and games. On paper Nintendo of America is doing very well and is profitable, but there may be boardroom drama.
My suspicion is that Doug Bowser of Nintendo US and Nintendo Japan obviously covered these topics in meetings. My statement is that he may just be tired of arguing with the Japan office as a whole and is ready, after only a decade, to retire.
My second remark is that marketing people keep getting promoted to CEO, and have a penchant for constant promises that valuation will always go up and they can make more money, forever. It is a lie so many companies believe, and its both not surprising but still upsetting to see yet another marketing person taking the position.
I'm wondering if this is due to internal turmoil over ICE. Bowser knowing he will have to navigate more things like this if it goes unanswered, but also a reaction might draw the ire of a government with an entire national budget to fight with, and the back and forth with home office is finally too much pressure.
That said, the new ceo will be the former head of Marketing because of-fucking-course. More "line can go up forever" promises to shareholders.
I figured, but also now theres just straight up separate pools I think. When you create an account one of the settings is specifically "looking for friends". Part of "the game" I'm glad I dont have to race around trying to play anymore tbh. (But yeah no I get totally sucks on the women's end too for the opposite reason it sucks for men)
No I understand the rationale and why this occurs in the way it does, but not the process theyre going about it.
My thought was "surely if there was a larger trend AFTER these hookup patterns there'd be talk of it" but I am not the type of person/near the people who would be affected so I hear nothing and find that...unusual, given how much tea would be spilled back and forth on social media of "paul" recognizing "george" on grindr
This generates so many questions it could be a study. I do not have any gay friends, or know of people around me who use Grindr so I guess if someone who does could tell me.
Do these people seek "locals" (nonMAGA) of towns/cities they live, or do they seek other MAGA hidden on the platform? If they're looking for a non-MAGA partner, do they hide their leanings? Is it just not something discussed during dms before hooking up? Do they often become toxic and try to bully the partner or do they keep quiet and try to blend in with John Everyman? If they look for each other, do they have like...a tell on their profile to help signal to each other to help get swipes? Are they often top/bottom or is the demographic still case-by-case? Do they attend Grindr and mark "looking for friends" or "looking for hookups"? (Women used to use bumble a lot but like 90% of them were always marked as "just looking for friends" rather than hookups on their profiles)
This is the second time I've seen this phenomena of grindr spiking in a city where lots of MAGA congregates, but I dont think I've ever heard of assaults on homosexuals from maga people specifically after a hookup on grindr, in local/national news
