I’m playing too late for EU and too early for most of Americas
I can only play at night so that's exactly my experience as well (though in my case there's also my general tendency to play solo). How's the activity among your folks outside of the timing context? Even if I'd like to play with people I've meet in the game in the past most of them haven't been online in months (or years in case of like half of them) - seems like you have better luck with that?
I finally took some time to start migrating my library after Comick's closure. It's been a rather mixed experience so far - some series aren't up to date on other sources while other turned out to have multiple chapters I wasn't aware of. I still have a few of titles to go through but things are slowly moving forward.
Welp, I glad I'm sticking with cost efficient ships and play style - 8-9 million sounds like a ridiculous grind (at least the way I play). Do you usually play with friends or go solo? I know you mentioned friends wanting to jump in recently but I'm thinking in general.
Not much changed since 4.0 in terms of flight model but an updated version is currently in testing by "secret groups" so who knows when we'll get it. Probably not with 4.3.2 considering how Yogi's comments about the thing sounded when patch notes from the thing leaked recently.
I'm also sticking to just game package for real money purchases, anything else is bought in game. Since I don't really do any cost intensive gameplay nor spend money on things I don't really need or want, buying a Hornet was something I could do on a whim.
What's your starter? I'm curious how expensive a ship would have to be to improve on it.
Noted and added to the pile. Thank you for keeping my procrastination mind goblins well fed, they'd have a much harder time without your recommendations.
Since medical gameplay is currently dead (or at least I can't find any beacons/help requests when I'm online) and bunker missions often end up being a crap-shoot I've been kinda flying aimlessly around Arc Corp recently. In the meantime I've been thinking about classic Hornets and since I really like how they look (and remembered CIG talking about wanting to remove them from in-game stores) I decided to pull the trigger and bought myself a Ghost Mk1.
Why? Honestly, I just thought having one would be neat. I haven't really done any dogfighting since 4.0 dropped and this purchase finally pushed me towards trying to get over my dislike for the current flight model to learn how to fight again. It's been... rough.
Not due to difficulty as I'm just doing basic patrol and Gibby's gauntlet missions but rather due to technical issues. Pretty much all of my outings had the problem of enemies desyncing and zipping from place to place, making targeting practice as much of an aim as divination exercise. It's not impossible but it's hard to decide how much of my slow aim has to do with being rusty and how much can be attributed to the game. I'm sure I'll get some kind of answer if I stick with it long enough but that will take a bit.
Other than that I'm mostly waiting for 4.3.2 at this point, hoping it'll bring something new I could sink my teeth into (and hopefully enjoy the Aurora rework). If not that then at least I'll get to play on fresh servers for a bit - I need properly working enemies to train man!
4.3.1 has been a bit of a rougher patch than 4.3.0 for me. Does anyone have any similar feelings or am I just unlucky with my server performance?
At least they're adding some difficulty options for those who enjoy the gameplay so that's something. For me gameplay is one thing but I was also hoping for a different tone and general writing direction - at this point I pretty much came to terms that this game is not targeting me with that. I'm just glad the original GFL is doing well.
The two future major events (already mentioned Deep Oblivion and Corposant) are an absolute "make or break" moment for me - if these two end up being duds I'm done for good. No point staying due to nostalgia for other games in the franchise.
It's interesting when devs changes a relatively minor thing once between multiple titles and don't standardise it with the rest when re-releasing the whole thing. It makes sense but it always feels a little weird when experiencing the games back to back. Thanks for the info!
Man, Mo at the start sounds pretty much how I feel about the game right now. I know my constant negativity about GFL2 isn't fun so this will be the last whining post I do about this.
Looks like it's another filler patch and considering the lull we've had for months now it's... not great. I already went from doing pretty much everything each patch to skipping certain activities or even whole days. This might not sound like much but for me that means I'm pretty much done with the game.
I was planning to stick around until Deep Oblivion or Corposant just to see if the "finally good" events can manage to keep me interested but seeing how much longer it might take (Lind's patch, i.e. another filler, will be following Florence)... I honestly don't know.
Also, naming Florence's gun after a weapon of mass destruction from the first game sure is a choice (I know they named it after the goddess but it feels like they don't really care or remember about the lore from first GFL any more).
Most of my experience with Halo comes from the first game and some of the books, I was never part of the craze during the heyday era. Guess I'm finally catching up with the games I'm interested in (and 4).
I'm mostly planning to stick with Heroic + skulls for now but thanks for the warning, I'll keep that in mind. I feel like this is a good enough spot for me though I'm not sure I'd go for legendary solo run anyway (does difficulty scale in co-op?). Besides, I have my Cyberpunk playthrough to serve the role of a "torture machine" at the moment, I don't think I'm ready to go for multiple experiments like this at the same time.
I'm sure playing these games in co-op must be a fun experience. None of my friends are interested in Halo so I probably won't get to try it any time soon but it's fine - this go through all of the MCC games was always planned as a solo adventure as I prefer to explore and take my time, especially with things I never played before.
It probably happened way earlier for me as well to be honest, I'm just mainly into older and indie games so I don't really pay attention to new (mainstream) releases. Seeing this was a bit of reality check.
Man, I appreciate this happened but seeing the price all I can do is chuckle and move on since this thing is almost 3x the reasonable price in my local currency. Never expected to get priced out of AAA gaming but here we are.
Still, nice catch for GOG. I hope this is a good sign for the future.
Just to clarify - my reaction to the twist has more to do with my expectations than the twist itself. I'm also not finished with the arc focusing on it so things might turn out to better than they appear right now. I'm just not entirely sold on where I think this is going but I might be completely wrong.
Still sticking with this one for now as the series started to move beyond the initial gimmick and opened a new significant mystery. Well, I say that but after reading some more the mystery seems to be going in a bit of a boring direction - we'll see how things go in the future, I hope I'm wrong on this.
It managed to regain my attention for now so if everything goes well it should keep things engaging for a while longer.
For Better or For Worse
Book isekai, MC reborn as villainess, yadda yadda... It's the usual setup with the main hook being: MC doesn't want her little sister to marry the male lead because, according to the original story, she'll die to provide him with a tragic background. While trying to prevent this from happening MC ends up marrying the guy instead.
This series has been rotting away in my backlog for a while now and I thought it we be just the thing to avoid doing other stuff I should be doing. It's pretty fun so far, starting both as a full-on comedy (MC trying everything in her power to get rid of the male lead) and melancholy (getting married and shipped off with a guy she'd known for less than a month).
I ended up liking this one way more than I expected to - MC is great and plays amazingly well with other characters, including some introduced as possible villains, only to do 180 on their attitude after spending time with her. Also, the actual romance portion is really nicely done and managed to convince me to something I wasn't really sold on initially.
Also also, the art is great. Both gag and hero panels look fantastic and sell the emotions they're aiming for really well. It's a treat.
That may be the case but personally I find the smaller, personal scale way more impactful than "oh no, someone blew up a planet". I don't care about millions of blobs acting as background, I do however care about what happens to characters I got to know and love throughout the story.
I'm sure people have different views on that but for me personal is where it's at and IBO delivers nicely in that regard.
