Politicians working for their own profit instead for the well-being of the people who elected them? Color me shocked!

Lindner trying to keep the Schuldenbremse no matter what doesn't help either. Spending money on fighting climate change now could mitigate some of the climate change damages in future, but I guess it's more important to save every possible cent now... 🤷

Even if in the next elections (2029!) greens would surge like crazy and the far right crumble, we lose sooo much valuable time within these 5 years now. It really is disheartening :(

Not to mention they were kicked out of the Nazi group, because THEY WERE TOO EXTREME FOR THEM. Wake me up in 5 years when we can hopefully stop this...

The scary thing is, I could imagine someone writing this text, but unironic...

Hab jetzt doch mal in das Grundsatzprogramm geschaut um zu prüfen was sie da konkret zu sagen und das hier gefunden:

Wir unterstützen die Forschung in diesem Bereich, allerdings dürfen die Fördermittel zur Erforschung entsprechender Tech- nologien die Technologieentwicklung im Bereich der erneuerbaren Energien nicht hemmen.

Das klingt für mich erstmal nach einem vernünftigen Standpunkt, oder übersehe ich etwas?

Mostly the same. I tried ChatGPT a few times to get it to generate some code, but mostly it produced code that didn't even compile and when I asked it to fix it, it created code that didn't compile in a different way. I enjoy writing code on my own a lot more than having to review some pre-generated code.

Though I use it as a glorified Google sometimes and that is not even so bad.

My feeling is the US feels they are too committed now to stop and just hope that Israel will stop by itself soon.

I guess the idea is (make of that what you want):

• Usenet is not illegal by itself (but well, same goes for torrenting)
• As long as law enforcement doesn't get its hands on the server it can't tell what you download, as long as you use TLS (no VPN required, but doesn't hurt either)
• But even if: Usenet providers (hopefully) don't keep logs of what you downloaded, so for all we know you just paid the provider to download actual news/Linux ISOs?
• But even if they do: You are not uploading anything -> you are probably less interesting to law enforcement and they might just ignore you (especially if you use some payment method that might require going through some extra steps to link it to you as a person)

I use ChatGPT sometimes to give me a pointer in what directions I could go/research more for a given problem. But if I ever take the code provided by it, I need to review it line by line and half the time it doesn't even compile anyway. At this point it's just a helper to suggest to me what to google for and then I do the rest😅

But we can't afford that. We somehow need to subsidize fossil energies after all, because of the economy!
