The author may be a right-wing fellow. Nonetheless, the data he exposes are taken from official Mozilla docs.
Indeed. Donations go to Mozilla Foundations for their activities (advocacy and whatever). Firefox is developed by Mozilla Corp.,whom can't legally receive donations.
Stop with this excuse and stop Insulting people. I've been on Firefox for nearly 20 years, but Mozilla has ruined it for me little by little. The last straw has been the horrible UI redesign. So I switched to a Chromium browser. Tell Mozilla to make a better browser and to listen to their community, instead of blaming people for using what serves them best.
It's fine but I find mildly irritating the fact that they have removed the tab dividers.
In my case is because the stuff I buy has to be mine. It's a matter of principle. I root and degoogle all my phones and install custom ROMs on them (and FOSS apps from external stores, such as fdroid). I couldn't deApple an iPhone, so it'd kind of limited for me. Plus, frankly speaking, I couldn't care less about RCSi/Message, it's not like there aren't enough messaging options out there.
I don't think so. Reddit is making exception for 3rd party apps with accessibility features, so RedReader should be exempt from paying to use the API. Or this is what its developer said.
In my understanding, RedReader will continue working.
This would imply having an account on something owned by Amazon. No, thanks.
The cryptominer part is just FUD. Learn how it works. And the browser itself is way more private then FF by default.
The CEO was one also of the cofounders of Mozilla. How ironic.
Also, the actual CEO of Mozilla is doing a great job... At increasing her paycheck while firing developers:

Mozilla is one of the most corrupt orgs out there, right now.
This isn't anything new. Firefox lost the lead ages ago (thanks, Mozilla):

I guess ASMR (whatever it is) can be found elsewhere as well or dowloaded for offline use?
I think I'm lucky enough for being born in the '70s and there were less things to which become addicted. In my case, they were (and still are) books. If you really feel like leaving YT, you may just look for books on topics of interest...
Then you just use a browser that randomize fingerprints.
I'm sorry for youtube-addicted. On my part, I use it, maybe, twice per year, so I couldn't care less.
So? Brave is way better than today's Firefox. And I say that after being an avid FF user for almost 19 years. I refuse to go back to it or to fuel the shitshow and cash-grab which is Mozilla nowadays.
And here I am, avoiding bars and restaurants just because I prefer to eat at home.
Fuck Amazon
Agreed. That sub has done a lot to convince me that leavin FF would have been a good idea. Good job /s.
Hi! I have a 2 cores/2 GB VPS with very light use, right now.
I wonder if these hardware specs would be enough to run a little Lemmy instance (for few users). Would 20 GB of storage be too little for this?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Well, removing the abusive, ban-prone mods of /r/Firefox wouldn't be a bad idea.
This. Can't really understand YouTube addiction. I'm not exaggerating if I say that I watch, maybe, 2 entire videos per year.
