I'm a Reddit refugee too. But thanks for the context. I haven't seen the straw man. I have noticed a really strong streak of "blue no matter who" which is a terrible attitude to have, that's the way the Maga folks think.

More like he went down flailing wildly. Biden tried a lot of things that were never going to get through the supreme court. He did a lot, mostly ineffectively because he didn't deal with the real problems.

Honestly Maga believes principles are more important than lives, and until Biden withdrew today, they were winning.

The truth is politics has become so hideously compromised that almost nobody is a "great" candidate anymore, nobody is inspiring. Watching everyone close ranks against Sanders last election solidified that.

It was incredibly anti-democratic. The superdelegate system is designed to stop democracy from occurring in the party and ensure the candidate is picked by big donors.

If he's feeling betrayed, want till he learns how most democrats feel about his leadership.

Until the next one. The republicans are a looming existential threat that senior democrats do not take seriously, nor do they know how to fight.

I hope we all remember the senior democrat leadership closing ranks to keep meaningful change (sanders) out during the last primary.

The political system right now is simply good cop and bad cop.

Bad cop(republicans): i'll shoot you.

Good cop(Democrats): vote for me, I'm your only choice to stop him from shooting you (but it's in my best interests to let him threaten you forever, so you'll vote for me)

Both will forever suck. Both are fascists. We need better options

Which is why it is so essential we get it right. And the fact there's even discussion about it means Biden's the wrong guy for the job.

Any participation in the discussion helps. Otherwise we stagnate with 80 year old leadership and end up here again in 4 years.
