  • Clearly not true, but I hope you're having fun with whatever it is you think you're doing here!

  • Thanks for your contribution to the discussion! Great stuff as always.

  • It's really funny seeing so many people use chatGPT as an enhanced search in the exact same way my completely tech dysfunctional parents were using Ask Jeeves back in the 90s

  • I would like to propose a seating change. I offer a 102 degree day and an apartment without air conditioning. I have a swivel fan and a portable AC that I'll run for a couple hours later but it's way to expensive to keep on all day. Patiently awaiting your reply, thanks

  • Democracy and authoritarianism are not mutually exclusive The USA is a "democracy." The USA is also one of the most authoritarian countries in the world.

  • There are so many people who believe that the ideology suppressed by the government is always bad. While this is sometimes the case, this is definitely not the case for authoritarianism.

Wouldn't the government suppressing an ideology also be authoritarian?

    (all governments are authoritarian)

Also can't pass up the chance to point out that the capitalist USA has the world's largest prison population by both total incarcerated and per capita. That seems pretty authoritarian to me.

  • There a plenty of very sensible people who have issues with NATO. If you're interested in an intro into one of the reasons why that is I'd recommend reading To Kill a Nation: The Attack on Yugoslavia by Michael Perenti.

It's on sale for only $3 right now!

  • Hmm,

    Jump
  • holy shit is this real? It's not even the correct type of nose, and it's fucking enormous lmao

  • Anti-sectarianism as in no hostile ML vs anarchist debate club style shit, and no derogatory names for other leftist tendencies. There's a lot of that in most of the larger online left spaces and it gets extremely tiring seeing the same arguments play out endlessly.

  • it originated as a shit posting site after reddit banned the chapotraphouse subreddit, but it has become its own thing over the past few years. Primarily it's a left unity space - communists, anarchists, etc all welcome with no tolerance for sectarianism. Still a lot of shitposting, but also in depth discussions about news and books. We've developed a pretty strong site culture as well with an emphasis on discussion (we don't have downvotes), and probably the strongest anti-bigotry rules you'll find anywhere. It is 100% not full of trolls or fascists. I think a lot of liberals who have never heard from communists in any meaningful numbers are just very confused on their first encounter with us

  • Every unmoderated internet space is destined to look like that. Just use it for music sharing and you won't even know the chat is there.

Nithing - The Seeping Pus of Ancient Wounds [brutal death metal] (2023)

  • so many pinned threads up here now gotta be real careful where I click to post meaningless bullshit like this

  • The thing is though, most people do distinguish them quite heavily. The hammer and sickle is still frequently used as an international symbol of worker's liberation while the swastika, black sun, etc are firmly attached to one of the greatest atrocities in human history. To compare them as equals, even without their direct relation in history, is extremely strange and something that only fascists would typically do in an effort to downplay the holocaust

  • Are you having difficulty distinguishing between the people who perpetrated the holocaust and those who liberated the concentration camps?
