Stories like this just reinforce my belief that AI will destroy us all. Not with a cool robot uprising like Terminator or Blade Runner, or even enslavement of humanity like the Matrix or Wall-E. We get the stupid future, where civilization ends when a Reddit shitposter creates a Trump-flavored chatbot and convinces the joint chiefs that they need to send him the nuclear codes via Signal because you can’t text on the red phone.
He’s stupid, yes, but he surrounds himself with people who are also greedy and malicious. This is just straight-up market manipulation.
After Trump announced plans to levy tariffs on the metal, copper futures jumped as much as 17 percent, Bloomberg reported.
The play is simply to buy a bunch of futures contracts beforehand, wait for the announcement and the resulting price spike, and sell immediately for a tidy 17% gain, or hold til just before he announces yet another “extension”. How many times has this happened so far this year? It’s so tiresome.
Obligatory
My god, he could at least have given the chicken a week to stew and see if he folds. Instead…
Carney Already Returned to Negotiations Emptyhanded Yesterday?
He’ll soon be crawling back to negotiations like a bird on its belly, crowing the entire time that whatever idiotic thing he is going to do has brought Canada to heel. Sad. Weak. Trump always chickens out.
From here I’d boot from a rescue usb stick or something and mount the system partitions under it to continue troubleshooting.
If you don’t have one or it doesn’t work, you may be able to get into the system by passing init=/bin/sh
or similar on the kernel cmdline. You’ll get a bare minimum root shell without a login prompt.
Thanks for this, I didn’t know that either. And then there’s this gem from Herzl regarding the origins of Mauschel:
at some dark moment in our history some inferior human material (eine niedrigere Volksmasse) got into our unfortunate people and blended with it.
It really is just racism all the way down.
some U.S. citizens are flocking to foreign countries in search of more affordability and flexibility
Otherwise known as freedom.
Pfft that’s stupid. Everyone knows millennials prefer to rent because settling down just doesn’t fit our lifestyle, bro.
Plus we aren’t “handy” enough to deal with all the work of owning a home.
Just kidding, it’s because we’d rather be driving for Uber or something, I don’t know.
Point is, we’re just lazy, entitled, inept children.
