  • Online reviews have notoriously been heavily gamed bullshit for years. I don't know why anyone would think that movie reviews are somehow spared from the fakes/manipulation.

  • I keep coming back to imagining if Reddit and Twitter were integrated. It just sounds like a giant mess. I guess I'm just not sure what the benefit would be, or why anyone would want it. What's the actual use case that makes it desirable?

  • Out of curiosity, why is Cloudflare so heavily despised? It sounds like the service works well?

  • Believe it or not, there's still a shit ton of people out there making the "both sides" argument.

  • Well and now you're inching up on "both sides" territory, which just makes me wonder if your outrage is even genuine.

  • To be honest it sounds like you don't want people to mock conservatives, and that's a tough ask when they make it so easy.

  • Tiktok doesn't have shorts from all my favorite channels though. Shorts is obviously supposed be YouTube's "answer" to Tiktok, but it's a different vibe, IMHO. I've tried to get into Tiktok and it just doesn't do it for me.

IMHO, I think they just need to add a toggle for shorts so that people can opt out (or in, whichever).

  • I enjoy YouTube Shorts a great deal. It could definitely be easier to curate your feed than it is, but I have a great deal of intractable pain at all times, and I like the fluffy format. It's easy to digest and understand and move on to the next one when my attention span is completely destroyed by the constant intense pain. Sometimes it's the only thing that gets me through the day.

  • You're not my real dad, you can't tell me what to do!

  • What ultimate do you use?

  • "I don't drink" usually implies severe alcoholism. Got it.

  • This is why I get so mad when people act like political opponents "just disagree with each other", and that we should all still be able to get along. These people won't be happy and won't stop until they're allowed to murder people like me in the streets just for being gay.

  • I went to a church when I was a kid that taught that wine was completely non-alcoholic in biblical times.

  • I've been told by several people that being a non-drinker is a "huge red flag" if they see it in a dating profile.
