Once again, thanks for all your time and effort keeping this instance going. And for being transparent about its workings and admin decision-making.
I think a post like this would be good to have at least monthly, with ad-hoc posts more frequently as site changes dictate.
I think a lot of the dead communities were created by folks fleeing from reddit and creating one for one placeholders for subreddits. Unfortunately, many of them have seen no activity and who knows if the creators are even around to mod them. If suggest a bulk email to those creators giving them 15 days to show some activity or the comm will be deleted (and follow thru).
I'd volunteer to help with admin or moderation, but I don't know rust, I'm not a developer in any way, shape, or form, and I have very little time. For now I think my contribution will have to be monetary only. Good luck finding someone though!

It is actually on the play store, but it's not the first result that comes up if you just search for liftoff. Search for 'liftoff lemmy' instead. I found it just yesterday, and have been trying it out after using Jerboa for a while, but getting a little annoyed at J's current bugs. So far I quite like Liftoff.
Coming into this discussion, I completely had the same "whatever" attitude of OP. But I think @BrainisfineIthink@lemmy.one makes a great point about the cost and money of Lemmy servers. I do appreciate the time, money, and effort it takes to keep LemmyNSFW running, and I think it's entirely fair to say that those comms should not be the responsibility of the admins to support. So I guess I've been swayed and now come down mildly against them. That said, at the end of the day I think it's an admin call. They are the ones that have to expend resources to support those comms, and they are NOT part of the core "mission" of the instance, as it were, so I'm good with the decision being entirely in their hands.
Maybe that's a bit wishy-washy, but as a user I don't think it directly affects me much.
Not currently locked up, but my last lockup was also in an evotion bijou, which went from Valentine's Day to Memorial Day in the US (104 days). Not sure when I'll be locked up again or for how long.
Sadly this is all just still fantasy for me, but I'd prefer to watch while locked in chastity.
Personally, I love the more niche fetishes, but I do agree with the other posters here that we probably need more vanilla and conversation-driven coms first to drive engagement.
As I think on it, a place for amateurs to post a la gonewild and its variants would probably be a draw.
