Ja, ich verstehe schon wie es dazu gekommen ist und warum es eingesetzt wird. Aber trotzdem finde ich es persönlich sehr schade. FOSS developers have no cost reporting, no meetings with C level and stakeholders, no shareholders, no release plans, no schedules. What they have is passion.

They just created what they want to create, they have a deep personal agenda to make something they want to use for themselves and that has to have therefore the polish and quality they want to have it to have.

The corporate developers wanted to make a good product too I am very sure, but if the higher ups say that it has to be released by a fixed date then there is not much that the developers can do about it.

So yes, the company has no real excuses, besides money.

Creating a good emulator takes a lot of time and money, and that I think is the true reason why.

What they have released is a MVP, a minimum viable product, it checks all the boxes for a releaseable thing and that's what the higher ups, the product leads and other finance stakeholders want to hear.

Additional features or proper scaling? Yeah, nice we put that on the list for MVP+, for sure! When will that come? Nobody knows and we have no development time to work on it because now with the release the focus was shifted to the next project, but it is on the list and we will come back to it.

I have heard that so often in so many projects I was part of, as a grunt with no power, and for nearly all of them I still wait for the MVP+ time to ever happen.

I quite often recommend the atomic flavors of Fedora to people and have it set up for a few people (my mother for example). I think atomic distributions are perfect for tech unsavory people, because they can't really damage anything and it mimics/reproduces lots of the things they are already used from their phones.

Finde es schade das es heute, in vielen Genre nicht nur SciFI, so extrem stark um Action, Gewalt und "bildgewaltige" Inzenierungen geht. Natürlich sollte es in Geschichten um Konflikte und Spannung gehen, wäre sonst ja auch extrem langweilig, aber die Balance ist irgendwie nicht mehr gegeben. In meinen Augen ist Action in Geschichten ein Geschmacksträger, er verstärkt die Geschichte, aber inzwischen bestehen viele Geschichten fast nur doch daraus, wie ein billiges Fertigessen das nur durch den hohen Fett und Glutamatgehalt irgendwie erträglich ist.

Ich habe in meiner Kindheit und Jugend so viel gelesen das ich leider beim besten Willen nicht mehr sagen kann was genau mein Erstkontakt war. Es wird aber keines der großen Werke gewesen sein sondern irgendwas aus der eher Pulp bzw. Jugend Literatur Ecke.

Mit den großen wie Asimov oder Lem bin ich nie richtig warm geworden, ich muss sie mir Mal als Hörbuch besorgen vielleicht klappt das besser inzwischen.

Das mit den Vorwürfen gegen MZB höre ich heute zum ersten mal, die Autoren interessieren mich oft einfach nicht wirklich, als es damals bekannt wurde war ich zu Jung und ich hab glaub ich niemals zuvor Ihre Wikipedia-Seite gelesen, und es macht mich etwas fertig da ich allein aus Ihren Romanen ein ganz anderes Bild von ihr im Kopf hatte.

Die Darkover Romane gehören für mich zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsbüchern und ich bin der Meinung das man Werk und Schaffenden durchaus trennen kann. Ja ihr wurden furchtbare Sachen vorgeworfen aber das entwertet in meinen Augen nicht das was sie geschaffen hat. Hätte Sie für Ihre Taten eine Verhandlung mit allen Konsequenzen verdient? Auf jeden Fall und ohne Frage. Sollte man aber deswegen die Bücher nicht mehr lesen?

Als ich die Romane zum ersten Mal gelesen habe muss ich ein 8 oder 9 jähriger Junge gewesen sein und mal Fantasy Romane (mein erster Roman war Herrin der Stürme und der ist tief in Fantasy Teil des Zyklus) zu lesen die so gut geschriebene oftmals weibliche Hauptpersonen hatten machte damals einen großen Eindruck auf mich und hat mich tief geprägt und die Bücher jetzt zu verteufeln würde vielen Kindern (und Erwachsenen), jeglichen Geschlechts, die Chance nehmen das auch zu erleben.
