It kinda sounds like some kind of driver issue to me. The fact that it doesn't detect modes other than a single super basic one sound like not having a proper graphics driver. However, I have no clue why it would work again on reboot and maybe even more importantly, why the other monitor does have a proper mode detected. I wouldn't expect that if the driver was messed (you would expect all monitors to be assigned some basic mode).

As I understand you take in some stream video akin to /dev/video0 and want to enlarge it so you can look at your monitor while playing? Whenever it is something with video ffmpeg can probably solve it. FFmpeg flags like -vf also work on the video player, ffplay.

In my experience you can bend them back just fine. Especially if it is not a sharp bent.

It is shown by non-systemd distros that systemd doesn't really solve problems for desktop usage. When you switch away, not much changes basically. I sometimes hear that it is a different story on servers.

Fountain pen specific papers usually work very well (unsurprisingly) but they are quite expensive in my opinion. Popular brands are Tomoe River, Clairfontaine, Rodia, etc. These papers are usually very smooth. I happen to know you can get Clairfontaine in both white and ivory/cream. Cheaper paper is a bit of a lottery. If you buy random papers some of them will do well others will be terrible. The difficulty is that cheaper paper brands don't keep the paper consistent: if it works one time it might not be exactly the same the next time. A middle of the road option is Oxford Optik paper, which works quite well. Currently I have some thick A4 booklets from a no-name brand I got from Action(shop with random cheap stuff) which happens to be quite good for 1.29 eur a piece (amazing price lol). It even takes serious flex well depending on the ink. But it's exactly those types of scores that are not very consistent. I'm more of a dark ink guy so I can't help you with inks.

You are probably referring to Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. There are a lot of SOL anime so I got to choose something. Personally I think it is pretty good but not as good as some other anime that I would recommend over it. As well as the fact that Bocchi the Rock has a mostly female cast so I unconsciously selected anime that are similar in that regard. If OP wants to try something with a large male cast this is the only anime I can think of that would be fitting so it's good that you mention it.

What is similar? Does it need to be a band anime? Does it require social anxiety characters? Just cute girls doing cute things (CGDCT) in general? Have yuri elements?

• more modern SOL/CGDCT: Kiniro Mosaic, Gochuumon wa Usagi desuka?
• SOL with yuri: Hidamari Sketch (moderate, also a classic), Yuyushiki (lots)

edit: I personally don't think that Bocchi the Rock! is super laid back, but if you compare it to action shows it obviously is. If you really want to go the laid back route you can look into the genre Iyashikei ("healing type") with anime such as Non Non Biyori, Yuru Camp (still have to watch this one so can't verify personally but is very popular) and Yokohama Kaidaishi Kikou (absolute classic).

Yes, I use vim :) The spacebar is basically split into four buttons. The rightmost one is actually space. The leftmost one is shift. This means I only need one shift key as I don't need to alternate left and right shift. The keys with arrows on them are not actually arrow keys, I use arrow keys on a layer. The left one pointing right is enter when pressed and FN when held. the right one is is -_ when pressed and a layer key when held. All the the mods on the left work like that too: tab when pressed, mouse layer when held. 0 when pressed, superkey when held. Esc when pressed, ctrl when held.

I ditched ZSH a long time ago because it wasn't snappy. From what I remember, things like autocomplete, syntax highlighting, etc were written in ZSH and not build in. In something like Fish it is build in and it felt much faster to me.

This changes the angle at which they meet your thumb. Many find this configuration more comfortable when they use mods instead of a spacebar kit. I do this too.
