  • It depends on which few.

    Religiofascists curating science? Dark ages.

Scientists curating religion? Grifter cults die, only vegan, wicca and Buddhism remains as religions, but everything is well-recorded and studied in its sunset.

Military curating education? "IM DOING MY PART!"

    Military curating science? MOAR BOMMS

We could rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock the shit out of this. We could, but should we?

  • There's some mumbling about contractor pork, but what we're going to see here, I'll bet, is the Cons slamming it on a "freedom" angle since they can't slam it for contractor pork -- that's their jam.

I suspect this'll be a nothing-burger in a blender: It'll spin around and make a mess, but there's nothing to eat here.

  • A minority government has been in power for all of Canada's best achievements. This isn't a surprise. The NDP would seem short-sighted in the office and bludgeoned in the press, but as the conscience of the Liberals they have the power to push them for our good.

It's an interesting one-two punch to the cruelty and PR of the Cons. The Libs can defend in the press and play victim to the Dems' horrible machinations - insert dramatic swoon here - and the Cons have to fight both fronts. Accidentally, while no one's looking, Canadians' long-term happiness improves in every way that isn't American Rat-race cool.

  • The best time would have been on the first day of the administration, after finishing the broken and lame TPP and NAFTA2, equalizing pay in the fed, and then ... aw shit, pandemic. Sure there was a lot of noodling around fixing Harper's multi-year fustercluck, but the timeline before the pandemic was kinda tossed at that point. You remember how hard it was to get ignorant hillbillies to actually vaccinate, right?

The second-best time for non-mortal concerns may be today. Glad to see it's finally getting a look.

  • My dad signed an NDR.

Former ambulance crew, he's done mandatory for to frail people and hated the torture he was putting them through. He said they should have had an NDR, as the process of sustaining life was destroying them.

When he had a bad incident, he got his paperwork. He doesn't want someone breaking all his ribs too give him back a life with injuries on top of a chronic and slowly progressing other issue.

  • Before the days when docs would write out pharma candy scripps and send you on your way, they actually had remedies for things.

An old doc or a rural doc will probably recommend it. Simmer down. It's okay to use a remedy that's not pharma candy.
